CM inspected the studios and various sections of the FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi”. Mohsin Naqvi recorded a message for the FM Radio Sehat Zindagi. He stated that launching of FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi” is an appreciable step of the Health department. The people can be provided awareness to prevent themselves from various diseases and undergo their treatment through the FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi”. CM stated that the specialists from various medical departments should be invited on the FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi” and the people should be provided awareness with regard to health issues and their cure. Mohsin Naqvi underscored that FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi” will prove to be a beneficial project in the health sector. CM maintained that the standard of radio industry has definitely declined but FM Radio is listened even today. The broadcast of FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi” can be listened within approximately 50 km range of Lahore. The Provincial Minister and Secretary for P&SHC deserve congratulations on the successful launching of FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi”. The Health department can make an effective awareness campaign through the platform of FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi”. Secretary Health despite having scarce resources has launched an excellent project. The FM Radio “Sehat Zindagi” has to only focus on the programs relating to the health sector. Mohsin Naqvi apprised that various hospitals have been upgraded in a short span of time while the upgradation of few other hospitals are in their final phases of completion. The hospitals which have not been upgraded yet, will be upgraded in the next phase. CM stated that we have provided non available facilities in the hospitals. We will arrange new operation theatres, MRI machines and other facilities in collaboration with the private sector. Mohsin Naqvi also inaugurated HRIMS, ORIM and HIDU. CM also inaugurated the van especially being prepared for the video link along with the coaster project. Provincial Minister for P&SHC Dr. Jamal Nasir, Chief Secretary, Secretary C&W, Secretary Health and concerned officials were also present on the occasion. 10/02/24 CM Inaugurates State of the Art Police Khidmat Markaz"Abshar" At Shadman (Jail Road) For the first time in the history of Pakistan, the latest ever Police Khidmat Markaz "Abshar" has been established for the citizens of Lahore at Shadman (Jail Road). Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the state of the art Police Khidmat Markaz "Abshar." CM visited the Khidmat Markaz and undertook a test drive by sitting in the Driving Simulator. Mohsin Naqvi inspected the counters being established for the facilitation of the general public at the Khidmat Markaz. He witnessed various sections of the Khidmat Markaz and reviewed facilities being provided for the citizens.CM also monitored the self-kiosk machine at the Khidmat Markaz and appreciated the excellent arrangements being made for the citizens besides commending IG Police and his team. CM apprised that two self kiosk machines have been installed at the Khidmat Markaz where the citizens can themselves inquire about the provision of facilities at the Khidmat Markaz. IG Police Doctor Usman Anwar gave a briefing about the Khidmat Markaz. CCPO Lahore, Secretary Health, DIG Operations, CTO and concerned officials were also present on the occasion. 03/02/24 CM Mohsin Naqvi Formally Inaugurates the Lahore Global Village Festival Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi formally inaugurated the Lahore Global Village Festival. CM visited various sections of the Lahore Global Village Festival and monitored public participation and interest on various stalls. Mohsin Naqvi also inspected the Lahore Global Village Mall. CM while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Lahore Global Village Mall congratulated the CBD Punjab on holding a successful festival. Mohsin Naqvi stated that the Lahore Global Village has been formally launched and the participation as well as interest of general public is praiseworthy. The Lahorites will be provided a unique opportunity for shopping and Lahore Global Village will become a new identity of Lahore. A quality family entertainment will be provided in the Lahore Global Village. CM apprised that the Global Village Mall project was not getting completed and Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman put in a lot of hard work for its completion. When Chief Secretary was DG LDA then he had started this project but it was neglected afterwards. Many difficulties were being confronted in restarting work on the Lahore Global Village. LDA and CBD teams faced numerous problems in completing the Global Village Mall project.CM stated that he would feel greatly pleased when shops would open in the Mall and the rush of general public would be 100 times more for shopping.The Global Village Mall is not less than a blessing for the area. Shopping centres like the Global Village Mall are found in America or Europe. The Global Village Mall is a unique Mall with regard to its style and design in Pakistan. Numerous hopes are attached with the CBD to run the Mall on the pattern of an international organisation. All those who contributed their part in the completion of Lahore Global Village Mall deserve due appreciation and commendation. CM prayed that the Global Village Mall generates significant resources for the CBD. Provincial Ministers SM Tanveer, Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Ibrahim Hassan Murad, Doctor Javed Akram, Chief Secretary, IG Police, Secretary Housing, Commissioner Lahore, CCPO, Deputy Commissioner and other officials also participated in the ceremony. 02/02/24 CM Inaugurates Multan University of Science and Technology Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Multan University of Science and Technology (MUST), acknowledging the institution's pivotal role in delivering technology-based education with a focus on high-quality research and educational facilities. During his visit to various sections, the CM engaged with faculty members and commended the noteworthy progress that MUST have achieved in providing advanced facilities for higher education and cutting-edge scientific research. Emphasizing the critical need to bolster the enrollment of nursing students, CM Naqvi highlighted the heightened demand for nurses not only within Pakistan but also on an international scale. He assured the university of the government's full cooperation in addressing this need, expressing a willingness to collaborate closely. Looking ahead, the chief minister expressed optimism about the pivotal role a state-of-the-art private university like MUST could play in advancing higher education. He envisioned MUST carving out a distinctive identity for itself in southern Punjab. Dr. Arshad and Muhammad Ali Gardazi briefed about the university. Provincial Minister Mansoor Qadir, IGP, secretary health, secretary C&W, commissioner Multan, ACS (southern Punjab), and others were also present. 02/02/24 PHA Assumes Control of Underpasses Horticulture The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has taken on the responsibility of maintaining the horticultural beauty of all underpasses in the vicinity of Lahore. On Friday, the PHA and the Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), officially transferring the horticultural control of the underpasses to the former. The ceremony was attended by the Commissioner/ DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa and DG PHA Muhammad Tahir Wattoo. During the event, Mr Randhawa expressed his delight at entering into an agreement "that aims to transform our urban landscape and elevate the quality of life for all residents." "The PHA believes that by infusing greenery and beauty into these spaces, we can create a positive impact on the overall ambiance of our city," said Mr Wattoo. He highlighted that the project is a collaborative effort between the PHA and TEPA, saying the former will actively invite input from residents to ensure that the horticultural beautification “aligns with the unique character of our community.” Two additional agreements were also signed between the PHA and the specialised healthcare and medical education department, transferring the responsibility for maintaining the horticultural beauty of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) to the former.
