Skill Set

Fencing Industry Australia's first-ever national fencing skill set tailored for
Agriculture and Rural Fencing is now LIVE on the training.gov.au website.

Introducing the AHCSS00191 Agriculture and Rural Fencing Skill Set (Release 1),
a groundbreaking resource poised to revolutionise the landscape of fencing
practices nationwide. This comprehensive offering meets rural settings' unique
demands and challenges.

The skill set comprises four basic units designed to equip participants with the
work-ready skills needed to get started in agricultural and rural fencing:

 * AHCWHS202: Participate in workplace health and safety processes
 * AHCINF206: Install, maintain, and repair farm fencing
 * AHCINF205: Carry out basic electric fencing operations
 * AHCINF307: Plan and construct conventional fencing

Training.gov.au is the authoritative hub for all things related to Vocational
Education and Training (VET) in Australia, curated and managed by the Department
of Employment and Workplace Relations in collaboration with State and Territory
Governments.

The Fencing Industry’s Pilot Agricultural Fencing Course was completed in May at
the TAFE NSW campus in Orange, New South Wales.

Participants were selected for full funding under the AgSkilled program, which
was subsidised by Training NSW. The participants received both theory and
practical training.

The course took place over three days and was a huge success.
