UCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023, GLASGOW

A couple of Wheelers, Kathy and Mark, attended the UCI World Championships 2023,
held in Glasgow. Some images are shown below and can be seen in a gallery on the

WHY DON’T YOU JOIN US !?

Wetherby Wheelers are a friendly and sociable club that offers a wide range of
experiences on your bike. One of our strengths is our mid-week daytime rides and
with our Saturday and Sunday rides, we believe we have a full menu of varied
rides that will meet all your needs for group riding. For those of you who are
more experienced, we also offer time trialling, competing in local leagues.

With our experienced ride leaders, we believe we exploit to the full our
privileged and unique location here in Wetherby. You can be sure of experiencing
varied routes as we tour the country lanes of Yorkshire’s Dales, Wolds, North
York Moors, and Vale of York! We have a strict policy that no one will be left
behind so rest assured you will enjoy the camaraderie of group cycling.

We operate a try-before-you-buy policy, so if you want to make sure it’s what
you want, target a ride and then go for it. For those less experienced riders,
we suggest you try our Saturday rides. These are only half-day rides focused
more on the social side first. On all our official rides the obligatory café
stop is essential.

If you want to give it a go, just turn up and introduce yourself to someone in
Wetherby Red!

The official club rides are on Saturday, Sunday, and Thursday. We do have other
rides but these are more informal. Further details on all our rides can be found
in the Club Rides section and information on how to join can be found on the
Join Us page.

HIGHWAY CODE MYTHS AND MISINFORMATION

Recent changes to the Highway Code have provoked some misinformation and lazy
misinterpretation of the new rules. Cycling UK have a measured and useful guide
to what the changes actually are and how they affect cyclists, horse riders and
pedestrians. Well worth a read.

   Only five riders out due to the conditions as well as those recovering from
