Note

Travel Logistics

While the ceremony and reception will take place on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, we
will be in the area starting on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Family and friends have
the option to arrive early in the week to explore the area. Puntarenas, Costa
Rica, has lots of beaches and waterfalls to explore. We will be providing
recommendations and organizing excursions for the days leading to the ceremony.

Plane

Getting In

We recommend flying into Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO).

A non-stop flight from the Northeast US takes 5.5 hours; a flight with one stop
either in Florida, or San Salvador, takes 7 hours.

The drive from San Jose International Airport to Savegre de Aguirre will take
about 3 hours. We use Tricolor Rental Car located outside the Airport in San
Jose, linked below. All major rental car companies offer vehicles at the
airport.

There is an option to fly into the area (Quepos), for under 100USD one way,
linked below.

under $100 USD one way. An alternative for those who don't want to drive 3 hours

Things to Do

Bullet Point Empty

Learn to Surf: most of the surrounding beaches offer surfing lessons ranging
from beginner to advance.

Bullet Point Empty

Nauyaca Waterfall: A two-tier waterfall measuring a combined 200ft and large
natural swimming hole at the base of the lower fall. Accessible on foot, by
horse and by tour truck. We usually do the walk. It's about 5 miles round trip
on a shaded dirt road with lots of trees and some creeks along the way.

Bullet Point Empty

Dominicalito Beach: Calm beach good for swimming

Bullet Point Empty

Parque Reptilandia: Good for children

Bullet Point Empty

Isla El Cano - Snorkeling: Considered the most spectacular snorkeling spot in
Costa Rica, and accessible by boat from Uvita. The trip there takes 1.5 to 2
hours so this will be a full day adventure for those who dare!

Bullet Point Empty

Whale Watching: It just so happens that mid July-mid November is Whale Watching
season in the Costa Rican pacific coast! Humpback whales from the Antarctica
come in to mate in the warm waters of the pacific.

Story

We met in September 2012 while working at a Mexican restaurant in Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania. We were both in school at the time: Johnson was studying to be a
Physical Therapist's Assistant and Guadalupe was studying to be a Mechanical
Engineer. At the time, we went on a few dates until eventually, our schedules
took us apart. We reconnected in October 2020 when we found each other on Bumble
(a dating app). Johnson was bold enough to invite Guadalupe over to his home for
tacos and margaritas, and the rest is history!

Since then, we have had many epic adventures together as we continue to explore
the world together as a couple. As you all know, Johnson's specialty is taking
people out of their comfort zone while Guadalupe is a professional at adapting
to strenuous conditions. While our backgrounds can't be more different, our life
experiences have allowed us to have mutual appreciation and respect for each
other and our adventurous nature have taken us wild places.
