THE IMPORTANCE
 OF BEING

EARNEST

An Immersive Journey to 1894 England

January 26 -  February 25, 2024

Fridays - Sundays  at the BM Lodge

4690 SW Watson Ave., Beaverton OR - MAP

An intimate production - only 45 people per show

Time travel to 1894 and visit an exquisitely decorated manor house, a beautiful
English garden, and a bachelor's English flat in our immersive Oscar Wilde
classic.

Experience Theatre Project’s 2023-2024 Season continues with a top-notch
immersive production of Oscar Wilde’s endlessly entertaining comedy, The
Importance of Being Earnest.  ETP's Artistic Director Alisa Stewart directs this
timeless world classic, an unmissable opportunity to see what the London
Telegraph has called “the most perfect comedy in the English language.”

Oscar Wilde’s wildly entertaining comedy sparkles with dazzling wordplay and
hilariously unlikely situations. This “trivial comedy for serious people”
features two carefree bachelors, Jack and Algernon, each with a carefully hidden
double life. But when Algernon discovers that Jack has been posing as a man
named Ernest to escape to the city, he promptly travels to Jack’s country estate
to pose as the fictional figure himself! Silliness ensues with whimsical
ingénues, jealous fiancées, indomitable dowagers, and the most famous handbag in
theatre history.

This immersive production will lead audiences from a London flat to a country
garden, and then into a manor house. Actors will perform only a matter of feet
away from the audience. As the audience sits inside of the spaces that are
created, there will be no bad seat in the house.

The cast features Nick Medina (Algernon Moncrieff), Brave Sohaki (John “Jack”
Worthing), Kate Herrell (Gwendolen Fairfax), Ella Noel (Cecily Cardew), Saren
Nofs Snyder (Lady Bracknell), Samm Hill (Rev. Canon Chasuble), Ruth Jenkins
(Miss Prism), and Laurence Cox (Lane/Merriman).

“Immersive adaptations of the classics have always been an important part of
Experience Theatre Project’s work, and this hilarious production of The
Importance of Being Earnest will continue this theatre’s mission to bring
innovative and immersive arts to the forefront,” says Artistic and Production
Director Alisa Stewart. “I am delighted to add that extra immersive thrill to
this extraordinarily witty play, and the high class actors and designers promise
a beguiling and wild night of Wilde.”

The Queen’s Feast is an interactive dining experience where guests can feel a
part of a traditional Tudor feast with just a little dash of intrigue for the
invited guests... are you a loyalist or a rebel?

Join us as we celebrate the amazing Queen Elizabeth I, fresh off her speech to
the troops in Tillbury.  Throughout the dinner, courses are presented
theatrically, accompanied by a traditional madrigal song performed by a quartet
of singers. Special guests like William Shakespeare will recite his latest
sonnets, a harpist will strum away beautiful music of the time, and other
exciting acts will take place for the pleasure of the court. But a sinister plot
to unthrone the Queen is at hand. Will you help in the unseating or stand guard
to protect the Crown?
