We specialize in traumatic stress using approaches backed by research and brain science to address the present impacts of trauma. Alison is a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in relational therapy with caregivers and their young child - particularly children who experience behavioral and emotional challenges, or have experienced adoption or early adversity. Alison heavily supports primary caregivers as the key to bringing change for their child. Alison uses a play-based & sensory approach to increase felt safety, regulation, and relational capacity. She is certified in the Neurosequential Model (https://www.neurosequential.com/nmt) an approach integrating neurodevelopment and traumatology to inform work with children and families. Alison also uses Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (https://ddpnetwork.org/about-ddp/dyadic-developmental-psychotherapy/) and Theraplay (https://theraplay.org/what-is-theraplay/) techniques.
