COURSE OVERVIEWS




SCSI Online strives to provide the best courses and most precise learning
material for our students. Here are quick overviews of each of our programs.

Court Interpreter Program

Our Court Interpreter Program is offered in both hybrid and fully online
versions.

This 9 to 12 month program will provide you with the legal terminology and
interpreting skills required to work as a court interpreter in the public and
private sector. This program will prepare you for the state of California Court
Interpreter exam.

All 4 courses must be successfully completed with a grade of 70% or better to
receive a Certificate of Completion in the Court Interpreter Program.

 * Interpreting Criminal Proceedings I
 * Interpreting Criminal Proceedings II
 * Sight Translation for Court Interpreters
   
 * Advanced Criminal Proceedings II

Medical Interpreter Program

Our Medical Interpreter Program is offered exclusively through our online
platform.

This 9 month program will provide you with the medical terminology and
interpreting skills required to work as a medical interpreter in hospitals,
clinics and doctors offices.

All 3 courses must be successfully completed with a grade of 70% or better in
order to receive a Certificate of Completion in the Medical Interpreter Program.

 * Introduction to Medical Interpretation I
 * Introduction to Medical Interpretation II
 * Sight Translation for Medical Interpreters

Federal Interpreter Program

Our Federal Interpreter Program is offered exclusively through our online
platform. 

This 9 to 12 month program will provide you with the legal terminology and
interpreting skills required to work as a federal court interpreter.

All 4 courses must be successfully completed with a grade of 70% or better in
order to receive a Certificate of Completion in the Federal Court Interpreter
Program.

 * Interpreting Criminal Proceedings I
 * Interpreting Criminal Proceedings II
 * Sight Translation for Court Interpreters
 * Advanced Interpreting Techniques in Civil and Criminal Matters

Professional Interpreter Program

Our Professional Interpreter Program is offered exclusively through our online
platform.

This 9 to 12 month program provides you the opportunity to select courses from a
list of approved courses. 

All 4 courses must be successfully completed with a grade of 70% or better in
order to receive a Certificate of Completion in the Professional Interpreter
Program. 

 * Interpreting Civil Proceedings
 * Interpreting in Immigration Court
 * Advanced Criminal Proceedings II - Professional
 * Interpreting as an Analytical Linguist

Professional Translator Program

Our Professional Translator Program is offered exclusively through our online
platform.

This 6 month program provides you the opportunity to select courses from a list
of approved courses leading to a Certificate as a Professional Translator. Our
instructors are former and current instructors of Universidad de Belgrano and
Universidad de Buenos Aires.

These 2 courses must be successfully completed with a grade of 70% or better in
order to obtain a Certificate of Completion in the Professional Translator
Program.

 * Principles of Translation
 * English Syntax for Interpreters and Translators
