FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


WHY DOES BERSERKERMAIL FORBID USING IMAGES IN EMAILS?

The short answer:

It’s one of the nearly 60 ways used to help keep email deliverability as high as
the platform can.

The longer answer:

It’s a known industry fact that if one email platform client’s email
deliverability is poor, it can potentially start to have an impact everyone
else’s deliverability, too. It’s also a known industry fact that images can
potentially make emails more likely to be flagged as spam or as commercial by a
lot of the major ISPs, junk filters, and email clients — especially Google,
which not only invented the idea of the “promotions” folder in the first place,
but also readily admits to isolating ALL (big or small) images to check for
porn, viruses, or malicious tracking code. That means even an innocent little 5
pixel image of your logo in the bottom of your signature triggers the same flag
as an image of a bottle of penis pills that tells the spam filters:

“This email has image content and we need to check it for porn, spam, malicious
location tracking, & viruses.”

It’s not a huge flag because a lot of emails have images these days.

(A little 1 pixel tracking image probably won’t trigger anything, for example.)

But images can potentially impact inbox deliverability.

Especially cumulatively over thousands of clients using the same platform.

But it’s a non-issue for BerserkerMail since there’s no image to flag in the
first place.

So instead of constantly chasing all the various, ever-changing ISP-specific,
device-specific, or email reader-specific spam filter rules with images (like
text-to-image ratios, ideal image sizes, how many to include without triggering
a spam filter, etc), BerserkerMail focuses its resources on creating ways for
your business to get more sales, get more engagement, and get better inbox
deliverability by not allowing them at all.

There are also some other practical reasons for the policy.

Like for example:

Since the technology to “read” images is still weak (otherwise Captcha would be
useless), then that means not having to waste time or resources policing the

CAN I SEND EMAIL WITHOUT FEAR OF GETTING BANNED FOR A HIGH UNSUBSCRIBE OR SPAM
RATE?

BerserkerMail does not suspend or ban based on opt-out/unsubscribe rates.

In fact, smart email marketers know a lot of opt-outs with people leaving
peacefully and not hammering the spam complaint button probably means you are
doing something right.

Especially if your sales & list are growing, and your customers are happy.

But spam complaints are an entirely different matter.

All the major email services from Gmail to Yahoo to Hotmail to AOL to
Protonmail, etc have a spam button. And excessive spam complaints made to those
services can also negatively impact everyone’s deliverability on the platform.
Thus, BerserkerMail can’t tolerate clients who consistently get excessive spam
complaints. When that happens, there is either a list quality/lead gen problem,
a content problem, mailing habits problem (i.e., not mailing often enough and
people legit forget who you are), or some other kind of problem the marketer
needs to figure out. Whatever the problem is, BerserkerMail is not going to make
it their problem or their clients’ problem.

But don’t worry:

If your spam complaints keep going over the set threshold you won’t be outright
banned before being warned. BerserkerMail wants to help you, not cancel you.
However, if you keep getting excessive spam complaints then yes, your account
will be suspended.

But even if that did happen (and it is highly unlikely if you follow the
BerserkerMail Guidelines) BerserkerMail won’t hold your data and list (i.e.,
your business) “hostage.”

In fact, you get emailed a link with that data each day automatically as part of
your service.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT BERSERKERMAIL IS BOTH “CAVEMAN FRIENDLY” BUT ALSO

Because of how its founders Ben Settle & Troy Broussard designed it.

Ben — by his own admission — really is a tech caveman.

It’s no exaggeration he can barely re-program his microwave’s clock after the
