AMBASSADOR ROBERT J. FAUCHER PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO PRESIDENT CHANDRIKAPERSAD
SANTOKHI

On Tuesday, 31 January 2023, Robert J. Faucher officially began his tenure as
the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Suriname after presenting his Letter of
Credence to His Excellency President Chandrikapersad Santokhi.


U.S. MILITARY SURGEONS BEGIN TWO-WEEK MEDICAL MISSION IN SURINAME

Between the 1st and 15th of February, 2023, the United States’ Lesser Antilles
Medical Assistance Team (LAMAT) will perform surgeries and exchange knowledge in
Suriname as part of the U.S. Southern Command’s (USSOUTHCOM’s) Enduring Promise
mission.


CHARGÉ D’AFFAIRES A.I. PRIYADARSHI SEN DELIVERS REMARKS AT AWE GRADUATION
CEREMONY

Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Priyadarshi Sen attended the 2022 AWE graduation ceremony
and was impressed by the wonderful work of the participants. In his remarks, he
applauded the women entrepreneurs and emphasized the importance of expanding
opportunities for women entrepreneurs.


U.S. EMBASSY AND GOVERNMENT OF SURINAME STRENGTHEN COOPERATION TO ADVANCE
CITIZEN SECURITY

On Monday, October 31, the Government of the United States and the Government of
Suriname affirmed commitments under a Letter of Agreement (LOA) to strengthen
their cooperation in countering transnational organized crime and corruption.


U.S. EMBASSY PARTNERS WITH KE SURINAME B.V. (SHELL) TO EXPAND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
TRAINING

On August 04, 2022 the U.S. Embassy in Paramaribo finalized a partnership with
Shell and Stichting Vonzell to expand the Embassy’s Youth Innovative
Entrepreneurship Program Suriname training program for young entrepreneurs. The
partnership will expand the YIEPS program Saramacca and Coronie.
