The best way to get out of the office or the business of the city

We are all about eco friendly Sport and Fly Fishing. Options include a variety
of destinations a short drive just outside Johannesburg in Bronkhorstpruit,
Magaliesburg or Cradle of Humankind (much closer than you think) to bucket list
trips in South and Southern Africa. We have some of the best fishing available
for you to enjoy.

The hot days and spectacular thunderstorms are a clear sign that we are fully
into our African Summer. This provides perfect conditions for indigenous fish
(yellow fish, Tiger fish, kurper, cat fish) and well as bass, carp etc. We
consider rivers as the most enjoyable fishing location but we also have many
awesome dam options to consider. Beginners or intermediate fishers can join one
of our Introductory group or private lessons close to Joburg/Pretoria and we
would love to guide you through the basic techniques required for the wonderful
art of fly fishing. Intermediate fishers may like to join one of our group or
private clinics where we focus on more technical aspects of fly fishing for
trout. Sport and fly fishing is an open air, outdoor activity, so lends itself
to social distancing. This is important as we care about your health and safety.
We have commenced with our mouth watering sport and fly fishing packages on
Sterkfontein Dam, Orange River (Karoo Gariep and Richtersveld), small stream
(Cradle of humankind) and Zambezi (Deka Tiger Mile, Zimbabwe)

NEW - We are beyond excited to announce the re-launch of bass and trout fishing
by Sundowner Flyfishing Adventures at Oxbow Country Estate. We are offering
launch packages for the Winter & Summer Fishing Club Packages. Fishing will be
available for club members and day fishers (booking required). The opening date
is 1st March 2024.

Come join us for a day fishing visit at Oxbow Country Estate (Launch special
packages available) and Lanseria Country Estate on the outskirts of Johannesburg
& Pretoria. We own Sundowner Zambezi Lodge (Deka, Zimbabwe) which set on the
banks of the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe. Guided day fly fishing trips in Cradle
of humankind, Dinokeng and Vaal River.  Hosted multi-day sport and fly fishing
trips combined with canoeing/rafting/camping on the Orange River in the unspoilt
wilderness of the Karoo and Richtersveld (South Africa/Namiba); We manage the
sport and fly fishing at Oxbow Country Estate near Bronkhorstspruit and Lanseria
Country Estate in Cradle of mankind World Heritage Site; and are a preferred
service provider for over 25 lodges/hotels in Gauteng which enables us to offer
an interesting combination of fly fishing, lifestyle and corporate team build
experiences. 

Fly fishing lessons are the quickest method for improving your skills as a
beginner or an experienced fly fisher. Sharing with you what we have learned
over many decades is our passion, hence we love to teach! Learning to fly fish
on your own is the goal to assist you with your future fly fishing trips! A fly
fishing lesson is the quickest way, hence to fast-track your journey!

Sterkfontein Dam is regarded as the Mecca of dry fly sight fishing for Yellow
fish. November to April is the prime fishing time and we are hosting 3 night
guided fly fishing trips over this period. All our other set departure trips for
this year were fully booked. Guests are still welcome to contact us regarding
tailormade trips. New set departure dates for early 2024 have been released. For
