IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

NEXT GENERATION CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE (NGCI)


The mock cutover to the STA Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure (NGCI) on June
8, 2022, was successful. The test was done so that customers could verify their
STA configuration directed RADIUS traffic to the NGCI without loss of service.
Only a very few customers mentioned problems with their configuration and
they’ve been asked to correct their configuration. The legacy datacenters will
be decommissioned in the near future, date to be announced.



FEATURE PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT


End-user choice of authentication methods (September/October)
This feature allows end-users with multiple authenticators to choose their
preferred login method.

Note: Once this feature is released, STA IDP log-on page will show all active
OTP tokens when users are authenticated for access to the User Portal or
federated applications (SAML/OIDC/WS-Fed). This cannot be disabled.

Already Released

Self-Provisioning Rules for User Groups
This feature defines which user groups are entitled to self-enroll
authenticators (MobilePASS+, FIDO, GrIDsure®). More information can be
found here.

OS condition support for iPadOS (July) 
The STA OS policy condition will support iPadOS and will be updated to support
the latest versions of Windows, Android, iOS, iPadOS and macOS operating
systems. The OS policy condition will allow you to block or allow
authentications based on the OS and version being used. More information can be
found here.

Preset Username for Azure Federation 
With this feature users do not need to re-enter their Azure userID again on the
STA IDP log-on page. More information can be found here.

End-user choice of authentication methods in LDAP pre-auth rule (July) 
This feature allows users to choose between different authentication methods
(eg. push v/s non push) in two-step pre-auth rule authentication. 

Self-Provisioning of GrIDsure with server-side PIN (August)
This feature will allow users to self-provision GrIDSure, together with a
server-side PIN as part of the authentication flow, when they need it for the
first time.

Approved Templates

More than 50 new approved templates have been released so far this year, for a
total of nearly 700 templates.
Approved Templates are based on a documentation review of the integration, while
Verified Templates are tested in the lab. Both include useful
application-specific help information.
