This influx of capital is set to enhance the company's research and development initiatives and expand its green energy footprint. Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy, expressed optimism about the role of CBG plants in achieving energy independence. "Establishing CBG plants in India is crucial for fostering a self-reliant and sustainable future. By promoting clean energy production and reducing dependence on imported compressed natural gas (CNG), we contribute significantly to India's vision of energy independence," Gupta said. He highlighted the support from the Union Budget 2023-24, which plans to establish 500 new waste-to-wealth plants under the GOBARdhan initiative, reflecting substantial growth in the sector with 113 functional CBG plants, 667 in development, and 171 under construction. Advt The funding will be strategically utilized to not only enhance Gruner's operational capacities but also to venture into new business verticals such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and green hydrogen. Gupta further noted, "As the Modi 3.0 government has taken charge, the biofuels industry anticipates policy reforms that will facilitate the expansion of new CBG projects nationwide." The company also aims to support the agricultural sector by encouraging the cultivation of energy crops through direct subsidies and financial incentives for farmers. This strategy is designed to ensure a steady supply of feedstock for biogas production while promoting sustainable farming practices. Adding to its innovative strides, Gruner is in the process of establishing Asia's largest CBG plant in Navsari, Gujarat, further cementing its commitment to a cleaner and greener future for India. * ETEnergyWorld * Published On Jul 29, 2024 at 01:29 PM IST * * * * * Telegram * Facebook * Copy Link * * Be the first one to comment.
