BROWARD CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF BROWARD COUNTY

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts has a unique partnership with the
Broward County Public Schools that began even before the Broward Center opened
its doors in 1991. A partner from the start, the School Board has always played
an important role in the development and success of Broward Center’s education
programs. This unique partnership led to the development of the award-winning
Student Enrichment in the Arts program or SEAS.

WHAT TEACHERS SAY ABOUT US

Find out what teachers and students experience when attending our workshops.

“Thanks for all the staff and performers do to bring cultured learning to our
students. We hope to continue this partnership for the benefit of the students.”

William Dandy MS

“We loved the play and staff was nice and helpful.”

Fort Lauderdale HS

“The study guide helped to front load information to students and prepare them
for the performance.”

Sheridan Technical HS

”The most valuable element of the program was when the poets gave their
background on how they started poetry and why. It was great for students to hear
that it was a way for them to express themselves and that it was also
therapeutic.”

Eagles’ Nest Chater Academy

“I loved the connection with 2nd grade standards. This helped give students a
real world visual to the Native Americans we studied.”

Imagine Charter at Plantation

"Our students enjoyed learning the lunchbox song before the performance in the
workshop-they were super excited to sing it with the cast during the
performance."""

Pasadena Lakes ES

"The workshop before was really intriguing. It involved the whole body which our
students really responded to."

Innovation Charter School

“Our students love the experience of attending the theater, for many of them if
it was not for the SEAS program these experiences would never occur. The staff
is always friendly and helpful. The performance was entertaining.”

Village ES

Sandpiper ES

make connections to literature in our classrooms.”

opportunity!”
