MANAGING YOUR TELEHEALTH LIABILITY RISK



Physicians, advanced health care professionals, and their practices hurriedly
implemented telehealth programs to meet pandemic demands and are now treating
patients through a combination of in-person and telemedicine visits. As time and
resources become available, physicians and practices can strengthen the quality
of their telehealth programs and mitigate medical professional liability risk.
To improve quality and mitigate risk, physicians and practices need practical
information about scope of practice, informed consent, physical and mental
health status examinations, in-office versus virtual appointments, and
telediagnostic errors.

Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Optometry brings together optometry
students across all classes so they can start getting to know and encourage each
other throughout their time in our program. This year’s event brought students
and faculty together and awards were presented for Student of the Year for each
class, as well as Faculty of the Year.
