Mecklenburg County is strategically located between Richmond, Virginia and
Raleigh, North Carolina with excellent four-lane, interstate quality highways.
Our business climate is diverse which creates a good location environment.
Mecklenburg County has several training institutions, specializing in
manufacturing technology, healthcare and computer based courses. We have
business/industrial parks, all with available land, and each with a graded pad
ready to build on. Our taxes are among the lowest in the state and our land is

This 670 square mile county is known for its strong agricultural tradition and
the recreational attractions at Buggs Island Lake and Lake Gaston. With
convenient interstate and primary highway access to major eastern markets,
Mecklenburg County has a diverse manufacturing and distribution base.  Richmond
City is 85 miles northeast, Norfolk is 100 miles east, and the Raleigh-Durham
Research Triangle is 70 miles south. Also, US Route 58, now 4-lane all the way,
runs right through most of the County, east to west.
