Gilbert, AZ 0 2 7/31/2016 Lennar Homes, from their sales representatives to our construction PM, have been highly responsive and supportive throughout our entire new home ownership experience. I will say that coming from the midwest, I have had trouble wrapping my arms around tract home construction methods in Arizona and what appears to me to be a lack in subcontractor craftsmanship. But that seems to be common throughout the area and our Lennar team has done an admirable job "herding cats" i.e. its subcontractors. I love my finished home and the community. Thank you Lennar! We bought our new construction "everything included" Layton lakes home 3 months ago and we have been dealing with contractors and repair people ever since! 9 visits from air condioning repair company, over 40 hours of people in our home (at 1 time 9 of them) Painters to redo the 2 color ceiling (4 hours), 3 visits for door painters (still incomplete), Molding around doors 2 colors and incomplete, window replacment, tile replacement, washer hasn't worked since we moved in, dishwasher has recall on it and they "repaired" our new appliance. Outlets overcut and had drywall repair in multiple places, was told when I painted and it didn't match "i guess you're gonna have to paint the whole wall again". Paint all over doorknobs, floorboard trim doesn't line up, garage door painted 3 times and paint peels off around all the borders when you open it. Internet wouldn't work in casita, Lennar had to put a booster in after I called the installer and THEY said they knew all along it wouldn't work properly in there. When it rains the front entry and side yard FLOODS and Lennar said it meets code as long as it drains in 48 HOURS! (Like mosquitos?) And today.... today we tried to hose the mud off the wall after Lennar "graded" our side yard, guess what happened? The paint started peeling off the wall when it got wet, bubbled and peeled! This isn't everything that has gone wrong, but let me tell you one last thing... "Everything included" ..NO! Our home is an EXACT replica of the model, tile, cabinets, bathrooms, everything. Not one sign in the whole model says "upgrade" or "not included". All the signs, including the front entry mat says "Everything included"... so, why did I pay $40,000.00 more than the base price for "upgrades"? So, last word... before you buy.... talk to the neighbors (all that I spoke with are having the same kinds of issues) and get a home inspector! Save yourself from being like us and having your dream home become a nightmare!
