RESEARCH: LONG-TERM EXPOSURE TO FLOODS IS ASSOCIATED WITH AN INCREASED RISK OF
MORTALITY

Nested case-control study finds that long-term exposure to floods is associated
with an increased risk of mortality with the health consequences varying across
different periods after the flooding event.


RESEARCH: TOBACCO CESSATION DURING ADDICTION REHABILITATION

Quasi-experimental pilot study finds a standardized tobacco cessation program
significantly improved self-efficacy and decreased cigarettes per day
in patients with substance addiction attending rehabilitation. Promising
findings pave the path for future randomized controlled trials.
