THE PROCESS

STEP 1

APPLICATION & DIGITAL NEEDS ASSESSMENT

The first step is to apply for the digital adoption program and fill out a short
quiz to determine your digital maturity. You will be approved within 5-10
business days and have access to a list of Digital Advisors (including us) to
guide you through this program. Let us help you take the stress out of your

STEP 2

DIGITAL ADOPTION PLAN

Once you receive your CDAP eligibility approval, we will get started on your
Digital Adoption Plan. Through a series of interviews reviewing your current
technology, barriers you're facing, and goals for growth, we'll go through our
Tech & Systems Audit which will give you a complete report on your business, our
recommendations, and a roadmap to implementing them.




Once we have identified your firm's needs, priorities, and made our plan, it's
time to submit your plan to CDAP in order to receive the grant funds. 

STEP 3

BDC ZERO INTEREST LOAN + WORK PLACEMENTS

Once you've submitted your Digital Adoption Plan to ISED (Innovation, Science
and Economic Development Canada) you may choose to apply to one or both of these
programs.


STEP 4

IMPLEMENTATION

You receive your funding and now it is time to put the plan into action and
start the tech conversion. We handle the set up end to end, coordinate with any
technology vendors, and even provide training and processes to your team so
you're not stuck with software you're completely clueless on using. We'll also
stick around for future support and tweaks as you use it and discover what
features or additional functionality you need.

PROVINCIAL GROW YOUR BUSINESS ONLINE GRANT

Many provinces including BC, AB and ON have partnered with the federal
government to offer the Grow Your Business Online Grant. This is great for small
businesses who do not qualify for the federal CDAP, or businesses who want to
apply for both and get more grant money.

 * $2,400 for implementation
   
 * No digital adoption plan required
   
 * Can be stacked with the Canada Digital Adoption Program for a total of
   $17,400 in grants.
   
 * Easy criteria for any business to access
   
    * $30k in annual revenue *or* at least one employee

Do I have to pay out of pocket?

The federal government covers 90% of the costs, up to a $15k grant for the
Digital Adoption Plan. So for example, for a $5,000 digital package it would
cost you only $500. A $10,000 package would cost you $1,000. The maximum CDAP
grant for a $16,500 package would cost $1,650.

As part of our intake we will work with you to determine your needs, and to come
up with a package depending on your goals, business size, and of course budget.
Given the government pays  90% of the cost, we typically recommend businesses
take as much advantage of that as possible.

How do I receive the grant?

The government pays the grant money directly to you within 30 days of your
submission of your Digital Adoption Plan and your detailed invoice from us
(including proof of payment). We typically charge 50% up front, and 50% upon
delivery of the Digital Adoption Plan.

Does the grant cover implementation as well as the plan?

Technically speaking, the grant covers solely the Digital Adoption Plan itself,
and the zero-interest BDC loan is intended to for the implementation of the
plan. However, the comprehensive initial process covers a significant amount of
the discovery and planning required for implementation so a lot of the "heavy
lifting" is already done when you're ready to move to phase 2. 

What sort of technology innovations does this program cover?

Knowing that tech needs vary incredibly by industry and size of business, the
government has intentionally left this program open-ended in terms of what sort
of technology it can cover. Some examples may include:




 * Document management software + cloud drives
 * Project management software to organize clients or projects, and keep team
   members on track with tasks and deadlines.
   * This often includes time tracking software if you’re paying or billing on
     an hourly basis.
 * Cloud accounting software
 * Online booking systems
 * CRM (customer relationship management) software
 * Team communication/chat software
 * Social publishing tools
 * Business integrations and automations
 * Industry-unique productivity software
 * Cybersecurity



Our business success roadmap also includes a SWOT analysis of all of your
business systems, recommendations for improving use and efficiency of your
current software, as well as process & workflow mapping.


The BDC loan is also intended to cover:
 * Acquiring IT equipment
 * Installation of new technologies
 * Updating and/or expanding IT equipment
 * Training staff on onboarded technologies
 * Materials and support services directly related to onboarding the technology
 * Further advisory services on particular aspects of the digital adoption plan




What businesses qualify for CDAP?

There are four main criteria for the Boost Your Business Technology stream of
the Canada Digital Adoption Program:

 1. Incorporated at the national or provincial level; or be a Canadian resident
    sole proprietor.
 2. Privately-owned for-profit entity
 3. Maximum 499 full time equivalent employees
 4. At least $500,000 and not more than $100 million in revenue in one (1) of
    the past three (3) tax years.



For the BDC Loan portion, businesses with revenues between $500,000 and
$5,000,000 are eligible for a loan of up to $50,000. Businesses with revenue of
above $5 million are eligible for loans up to $100,000. These have a 5 year term
with 0% interest
