CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF A LOVED ONE

Sign up to One Life Challenge and do something remarkable to remember someone
special. Raise funds to help advance cancer care in their name.

Your challenge in their memory

Remember your loved one in a way that’s as remarkable as they were by taking on
a once-in-a-lifetime challenge. Walk, climb, run – or, if you’d prefer something
less active, perhaps learning to cook their favourite food or picking up a new
language or instrument is more you. Whatever you decide to do, we’ll support you
every step of the way.

You have one life. Make it count.

BROOKE'S HALF MARATHON

“For me, running has been a place to put my grief and the Half Marathon gave me
this special day dedicated to my Nan. Every person who goes out and raises money
makes a difference. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done, so take the leap!”

Brooke’s Nan, Anne, was a massive part of her life. Described by Brooke as “the
smallest woman, with the largest character,” the whole family were devastated
when she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at age 67. When Anne sadly
passed away a year later, Brooke resolved to run a half marathon to fundraise
for Guy’s Cancer Charity and the pioneering hospital that gave more precious
moments with her Nan.

ROCHELLE LEARNS TO COOK

“My Dad got so much pleasure from cooking for me and my sisters. So when he
passed, it felt right to host a dinner in memory of him. I’m not much of a cook
and I really wanted to do Dad’s favourite dishes – so it was a learning curve!”

When Rochelle’s Dad, Michael, passed away from blood cancer, Rochelle wanted to
celebrate his life by doing something he loved. She challenged herself to master
his favourite dishes and hosted a fundraising dinner to give back to the
outstanding Guy’s Cancer team who cared for him.

TOBY'S CYCLE RIDE

“We chose to support Guy’s Cancer Charity because the amazing team made things
easier at every step. To anyone thinking about taking on a challenge, I’d say
that life is short, and you don’t know what’s next. So just go and do it!”

When Toby’s girlfriend, Lucie, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, Toby
launched a cycling fundraiser to give back to Guy’s Cancer, where Lucie was
being treated. Despite receiving exceptional care, Lucie’s cancer had spread to
her brain, and she sadly passed away in June 2023, with Toby by her side.

ABOUT US

We’re not just Guy’s Cancer Charity. We’re Naema’s, Rachel’s, Jeff’s, Anju’s,
and your cancer charity.

The impact of cancer is deeply personal. Lives can be forever shaped by the
series of moments that begin with a diagnosis.
Moments of fear, pain, sickness and exhaustion. Hope, celebration, and loss.
Every one of these moments matter, because everyone experiences cancer
differently.
We’re here for the people behind every moment of progress. Whether it’s a major
medical breakthrough, an enhancement in treatment, or the day a patient gets the
all-clear after years of personalised care.

WHAT WE DO

At Guy’s Cancer everyone gets personalised care which is as unique as they are.
We’re here to help the outstanding team advance care that enhances lives.

We never forget the people at the heart of Guy’s Cancer, from the people who’ve
just been diagnosed to the doctor using pioneering robotic surgery.
We support the people behind every moment of progress, so Guy’s Cancer can
continue to transform lives.
