I hate April fools day.

I am a Mad Scientist/Technomancer born in the 198X, researching and working with
technology since before the last interplanetary war. My main interest points are
lost media, obscure anime, manga and games, philosophy, low-level programming,
system design and analysis, older sets of Magic the Gathering, and tabletop RPGs

Anime/read that manga/play that video game" way.

for Scion 2e. Storypath system is kind of a trash fire.

One thing I think worth noting, I suspect most here get this, this whole
backdoor situation was detected very early in the deployment of the affected
versions. A number of distros, especially their stable/lts branches, are not
affected.

This is how FLOSS is supposed to work, lots of people looking at the code and
using it in interesting ways making it much easier to find these sorts of
potentially catastrophic situations before they're exploited in the wild. I feel
better about using such things because of how this incident, which could have
been an absolute disaster, played out.

Granted, I might treat random github repos with a little more skepticism, but
the model in general I think has largely been vindicated here. There will always
be people trying to do this sort of thing, and this model has shown it can find
these situations early.

I have a 3D printer, which could potentially help adapting cases if it comes to
that in my quest for a working C64.
