Every garment is tailored to the individual, my clients enjoy bringing a personal touch to their wardrobes, whether that is through the choice of fabrics or by adding special embellishments or nuances to patterns. Go to Design Process PYJAMAS I love to work with natural fabrics and none better than Irish linen. A number of years ago I started selling pyjamas online – I have found my customers love to wear them because linen is far more comfortable to sleep in than cotton, and I have also found they can double up as everyday wear when the weather is hot. I am conscious of making sure that I cater to a wide range of sizes and as everything is made to order it means that you, the customer, is not restricted to a single size but can order the top and pants in different sizes. Shop for Pyjamas LINEN SCARVES In recent times I have developed a range of pure Irish Linen Scarves that have become very popular with customers both for themselves and as presents. For anyone with sensitive skin, this is a wonderful alternative to a wool or synthetic fabric. Shop for Linen Scarves See My Costume Section COSTUME MAKING I grew up in a house where my mother hand knitted Aran jumpers as well as helping me to make clothes for my dolls. Added to this were trips to the dressmaker for outfits for weddings and confirmations – I always made sure to get some remnants for my dolls and designing and making outfits was always part of my life. I followed on this path, studying design and pattern drafting and going on to work with some of Ireland’s leading designers, before finding work at my other passion, costume making for the theatre and film. This has given me an opportunity to work on recreating period and vintage garments, and is something I often incorporate into customers’ commissions.
