Democratic deputy, Jorida Tabaku

The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has reacted to the absence in
the meeting of the supporters of Gazment Bardhi and the supporters of the former
prime minister Sali Berisha, who joined for the first time, at the PD
headquarters.

The former vice-president of the Party, Jorida Tabaku, who has not even joined
the meetings of the two groups in the hall of the Presidency of the Assembly.



In an answer, Tabaku said that her much-commented absence comes from those who
"until yesterday for them Gazment Bardhi was Gaz Brava", while it was considered
a "symbol of absurdity".



Jorida Tabak's reaction:

It has never happened to me to respond to a media outlet on an article written
about me. But I think I'll break this, just for transparency.

Lapsi.al has written two profiles about me, the first one in the distant year
2018 where he appreciated the fact that I have the courage to denounce the
oligarchs by name and surname at a time when something like this was
persistently demanded by the opposition. While the second profile was the one
published today, where my absence in the joint meeting of the group of deputies
was considered a symbol of absurdity.

Since September 2021, when a clash started in the DP with deep repercussions
throughout the party structure, I have been clear and consistent in trying not
to divide the party's base to give the opponent a weak opposition. As the media
fanned the fire of a violent clash with the headlines it offered, together with
fellow MPs, we had the courage to go down to the grassroots, meeting everyone to
seek exactly this unity that is vital for the opposition.

I have stuck to this line and conviction with strength and silence without any
heroism as I know that political party quite well. As a person who came out of
the structures of that political force that gave me the chance to understand how
the electoral campaign should be conducted and how to feel defeat and victory.
This has helped me quite a bit to be on top of my duty knocking on every door to
ask for the vote.

Although a product of that political force, I never thought that we would reach
the point where public lynchings against each other would be given in the media,
from the lecterns of the Albanian assembly or television studios. I never
thought that the majority would have the luxury of being cynical about us and
laughing as we personally attacked each other.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right, but this battle to attack anyone in the
opposition with a "pencil" in hand hurt us all, although I've been sparing with
my words more than many others.

Ndoshta prapë jam pakicë e mund të duket absurd që me 8 janar zgjodha të mos
jem. Megjithëse brenda në PD ishin koleget e bashkëpunëtorët e mi, e jashtë
ishin po kolegë e bashkëpunëtorë të mi se konceptoja dot më dukej absurd që
demokratët te ziheshin mes vedit.

Ndoshta lapsit, idhtares së djegjes së mandateve, gabimit më të madh të PD, mund
ti duket gjuha e ndryshme, por kam mbajtur të njëjtin qendrim si në Tiranë ashtu
dhe Washington: PD ka fituar me forcën e fjalës jo të dhunës; PD nuk e ka
betejën me SPAK; PD nuk fiton asgjë nga flaka në kuvend sepse na ka nxjerrë të
gjithëve nga përballja politike e mendoj se sot më shumë se kurrë na duhet
përballja politike.

Si dje si sot mendoj se djegia e mandateve, mos pjesëmarrja në zgjedhjet vendore
të vitit 2019, agravimi i sjelljes në kuvend ku goditja me duar qe më e dobishme
se sa argumenti me fjalë apo retorikë, janë gabime. E të gjithë faktet dhe
sondazhet dëshmojnë që pikërisht këto sjellje dhe gabime strategjike kanë qenë
mallkimi i opozitës në Shqipëri. Tragjedi të parathëna nga shumë kolegë që në
heshtje ndoqën masën e demokratëve të fryrë artificialisht nga retorika por edhe
një pjesë mediatike që shtynë në ekstrem duke larë duart më pas si Ponz Pilati
për dështimin.

Sikundër edhe e kanë dëshmuar xhanëm në sjelljen ndaj kolegëve të mi. Fjala vjen
miku dhe kolegu im Gaz Bardhi deri më dje ishte Gaz Brava i dyshes Basha-Bardhi
ndërsa sot për to është z. Bardhi i mirë që u bashkua. Përse ky ndryshim? Me
siguri ndonjë reflektim mediatik më shumë se sa centrim editorial për arsye të
tjera.

Me shumë vështirësi po përpiqem ti flas njerëzve se çfarë po ndodh me ekonominë,
çmimet, ligjet e shumë të tjera e media si Lapsi nuk i reflektojnë qëndrimet
opozitare të miat, por janë gati me laps në dorë të sulmojnë pse mendoj ndryshe.

Për dy vite me radhë teksa në media konsumohej tragjedia e Partisë Demokratike,
vendosa të bëj atë që di më mirë; me pak fjalë t’i përkushtohem punës si
deputete. Në vitin 2018 thuajse asnjë media nuk publikoi interpelancën time për
inceneratorët.

Shumë media, refuzuan të pasqyrojnë lajmet për inceneratorët duke na shumëzuar
me zero. Më shumë lajme kishte në to për akuzat që kolegët e mi bënin karshi
meje dhe komisionit hetimor se sa për faktet që Komisioni Hetimor nxori në pah.
Më shumë lajme kishte për ata që më akuzonin se unë e kisha me gjasmë atë
komision hetimor se sa për provat dhe faktet që njerëz që sot gjenden përpara
drejtësisë i thanë përpara komisionit.

Ndërkohë që sot deklarajonë është beteja e vetme e fituar e PD pas 2021.

Nuk ka dy të vërteta; ka një e cila duhet të jetë e qëndrueshme në kohë.

Po, jam në një situatë të vështirë, të gjithë jemi në situatë të vështirë, por
mendoj që së pari as duhet të intimidohemi, as të tërhiqemi nga ato që besojmë;
as të presionohemi pse botuesit kanë një mendim e duhet patjetër të gjithë të
mendojmë e veprojmë ashtu!

I write these lines neither with anger nor disgust, as Lapsi wrote, but with the
awareness that a difficult road awaits us; but I am sure that the DP's way to
become a political alternative is through the idea, the spirit, the belief and
the principles; in any case, in the Albania of 2024, we should think that we
will achieve something by attacking anyone who thinks differently!

After May 14, 2023, the disastrous result in every sense, I asked my democratic
colleagues of the parliamentary group, Mr. Berisha and the side of Mr. Basha to
go to the area and analyze the vote in each box. After we have failed to be an
electoral force and work as an electoral party with concrete results in every
box and polling station. However, we have entered a civil war that has not made
us bigger but has reduced us in these divisions that the citizens find
ridiculous, while the government abuses and steals.

I have asked to have a union that is neither mechanical nor surrender with
conditions but a union that comes naturally from an analysis of the Democrats
who in 2021 suffered the second major defeat and we still have not understood
why. I asked for a reflection by looking at myself with a round of hearings not
to confirm names but to really understand where the DP has limped. This is
because I think that today's crisis is not just a crisis of name. Mostly I think
that this is a crisis of ideas, organization and leadership philosophy that has
caught the largest party in the opposition.

If PD does not change itself to adapt to modernity and the discourse that
Albanians demand. If this political force continues to remain in the crisis of a
party that repeats the speeches of 3 decades with the same style and vocabulary,
it will never be a force that will absorb the needs of a languishing Albania. If
the DP motto remains the fight against SPAK, then we are still in crisis. That
we have a battle with no one but the opponent.

Maybe many Democrats have given up, my job as long as I have power is to invite
them into this force to build something different. For a PD as the citizens
deserve, the silent majority that has chosen not to get involved in the fight
inside the house. The silent majority that has chosen not to side with anyone
who does not offer an honest alternative to get out of this mess.

If we talk about this union, I am here present! Perhaps this very union may seem
absurd, but if we talk about such an alternative, then we are on the right path
to offer Albanians a reliable alternative to the current regime.
