CUPA-HR HIGHER EDUCATION EMPLOYEE RETENTION SURVEY


The CUPA-HR Employee Retention Survey was piloted in 2022 as a response to the
retention challenges higher ed has faced in the wake of the pandemic.

The 2023 survey closes April 21.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS SURVEY? WHO SHOULD COMPLETE IT?

We’re asking these questions to understand why employees in higher ed may or may
not be thinking of looking for employment opportunities elsewhere. The results
will suggest specific actions that employers and leaders can take to make higher
ed a better workplace. You should complete this survey if you are an employee at
a higher ed institution but are a) not a faculty member and b) not retiring
within the next 12 months. Please complete the survey even if you completed it
last year! We're interested in noting changes from last year's survey.


HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THIS SURVEY? WHAT QUESTIONS WILL BE ASKED?

This survey will take about 11 minutes to complete. We ask you a number of
questions about your job and what makes you either satisfied or dissatisfied
with it. The questions may cause you to think momentarily, but none pose any
psychological risk. These are questions you have likely thought about already.


ARE RESPONSES CONFIDENTIAL?

Your responses are entirely confidential. We will not ask you to provide your
name. Responses to this survey will be reported in aggregate only. None of the
information you provide will be associated with you or will be provided to the
institution for which you work.
