Lim Kian Kok, 47, formerly a senior team leader at NTUC FairPrice, is facing 34 corruption charges. See Hock Lam, 69, a former team leader at NTUC FairPrice, faces 31 corruption charges. ADVERTISEMENT The offences were allegedly committed between 2013 and 2020, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) said in a news release. The bribes were allegedly obtained as inducement for Lim to further the business interests of various fish suppliers with NTUC FairPrice. Three other people in the fish supply business at the time have been charged over their involvement in the alleged corruption offences. READ ALSO EX-SURBANA JURONG EMPLOYEE ALLEGEDLY TOOK BRIBES OF S$50,050 OVER SENGKANG BTO PROJECT They are: * Chew Kim Hwee, 47, a director of Fish Vision Agro-tech at the time * Heah Han Huat, 65, the sole proprietor of Ocean Trust Trading at the time * Ng Keng Meng, 57, a partner of Nam Soon Sin Kee & Co at the time Chew faces two charges of conspiring to bribe Lim with about S$26,900 in 2020. ADVERTISEMENT Heah and Ng each face eight charges of bribing Lim with S$43,500 and S$217,500 respectively from 2013 to 2020. Anyone found guilty of a corruption offence can be jailed for up to five years, fined up to S$100,000 or both. CPIB said that companies are strongly advised to put in place robust procedures in areas such as procurement and internal audit to prevent falling victim to corrupt acts by their employees.
