Harford Mutual Insurance Group said late Thursday that monoline workers
compensation insurer ClearPath Mutual Insurance Co. would merge into the larger
property/casualty insurer.

 * SCOR POSTS NET LOSS OF NEARLY $320 MILLION
   
   French reinsurer Scor SE recorded a net loss of €301 million ($319.6 million)
   in 2022, mainly due to the Ukraine war, natural catastrophes such as
   Hurricane Ian and the severe drought in Brazil, Artemis reported. The net
   loss compares with a net income of €456 million in 2021. However, the
   reinsurer saw its gross written premium increase by 11.9% year-on-year to
   €19.7 billion in 2022, supported by growth in the property and casualty

 * TOWER EXPECTS TO MAKE REINSURANCE RECOVERIES FOR RECENT CAT EVENTS
   
   New Zealand-based Tower Ltd. expects to make reinsurance recoveries of
   between $83 million and $113  million, based on estimates that the Auckland
   and Upper North Island floods and severe weather will result in claims worth
   between $95 million and $125 million for the insurer, Artemis reported.
   Cyclone Gabrielle is also expected to trigger its reinsurance, with an excess
