ADVANCE CHILD TAX CREDIT PAYMENTS

For details about the advance payments of the Child Tax Credit, see Advance
Child Tax Credit Payments in 2021.

The IRS has issued all first and second Economic Impact Payments and will stop
issuing third payments by December 31, 2021 as required by law.


HOW TO CLAIM A MISSING PAYMENT

You may be eligible to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 or 2021
federal tax return if you didn't get an Economic Impact Payment or got less than
the full amount.

It is important to understand that the Economic Impact Payments applied to
different tax years. Depending on whether you missed the first, second or third
payment, you will need to file either a 2020 or 2021 tax return to claim a
Recovery Rebate Credit.


FIND OUT WHICH PAYMENTS YOU RECEIVED

To find the amount  of your Economic Impact Payments, check:

Your Online Account: Securely access your individual IRS online account to view
your first, second and third Economic Impact Payment amounts under the “Economic
Impact Payment Information” section on the Tax Records page.

IRS EIP letters: We mailed these letters to the address we have on file.

 * Notice 1444: Shows the first Economic Impact Payment sent for tax year 2020
 * Notice 1444-B: Shows the second Economic Impact Payment sent for tax year
   2020
 * Notice 1444-C: Shows the third Economic Impact Payment sent for tax year 2021

Letter 6475: In early 2022, we'll send this letter confirming the total amount
of the third Economic Impact Payment and any plus-up payments you received for
tax year 2021.

Get My Payment: You can use the Get My Payment application to check the
status of your third payment only. First and second payment information is no
longer available in Get My Payment. See First and Second Payment Status.

If you need help using Get My Payment, visit Get My Payment Frequently Asked
Questions. Don’t call the IRS. Our phone assistors don't have information beyond
what's available on IRS.gov.


AMOUNT AND STATUS OF YOUR THIRD PAYMENT

To find the amount of the third payment, create or view your online account or
refer to IRS Notice 1444-C, which we mailed after sending the payment. In early
2022, we'll send Letter 6475 confirming the total amount of the third Economic
Impact Payment and any plus-up payments you received for tax year 2021.

If we sent you a plus-up Economic Impact Payment after your 2020 tax return was
processed, the status and amount of your initial third payment will no longer
show in your online account. You will only see the amount of your most recent
payment. If it’s the plus-up payment, then the plus-up payment  is what you’ll
see in Get My Payment.

   you and your payment has not been issued yet.

 * The Postal Service was unable to deliver the third Economic Impact Payment
   and returned it to the IRS.

FIRST AND SECOND PAYMENT STATUS

The first and second Economic Impact Payments no longer appear in Get My
Payment.

To find the amounts of these payments, view or create your online account. You
can also refer to Notice 1444 for the first payment and Notice 1444-B for the
second payment. The IRS mailed these notices to the address we have on file.
