SECTION ONE-CHANNEL DRUM

The ONE-CHANNEL section focuses on individual works that are using a single
channel of communicating the message to the market. Entries in this section
should demonstrate the creative use of one-channel communication, its benefits,
and efficiency. In relation to the Omni-Channel Drum, this section recognizes
individual works delivered through one communication channel exclusively.

This section has 6 groups each with multiple categories: Film; Print; Out of
Home; Audio; Digital, Mobile & Technology; and Design.

GROUP
A


FILM

FILM group is intended for works that show exceptional filmmaking and notable
skills of on-screen storytelling in the following categories:

CATEGORIES:

 1. TV/Cinema Film
    All video content created for television or/and cinema.
 2. Short Online film
    Creative filmmaking specifically made for digital (online) platforms. The
    maximum allowed video length is 60 seconds.
 3. Long Online film
    Creative filmmaking specifically made for digital (online) platforms. Video
    length should be over 60 seconds, but not longer than 10 minutes. *In case
    the length of the video exceeds 10 minutes the entrant should consult with
    the festival office.
 4. Screens & Events
    Video content displayed on screens or/and other public events. Films aired
    on TV, in cinemas or online cannot enter this category.
 5. Innovation in Film
    Video content displaying innovative and creative filmmaking to communicate a
    brand’s message.

GROUP A: FILM

FILM group is intended for works that show exceptional filmmaking and notable
skills of on-screen storytelling.

IMPORTANT NOTE: "case films" are not eligible in the FILM group.

FILMS up to 180 seconds in length may enter the competition. Except if you are
submitting an online / mobile film, where video entries may be up to 10 minutes.

In case of excessive length, please, contact the festival office.


REQUIRED MATERIALS

 * One video file up to 180 seconds,
 * JPEG file (screenshot).

Specifications: 

VIDEO FILE

All films have to be dubbed or subtitled into English.
Only files as MP4 will be accepted.

PRINT group is intended for works that present notable use of print media and
published publications in the following categories:

 1. Print & Publishing
    All advertisements published in printed media (newspapers, magazines,
    newsletters, in-house newspapers, etc.).
 2. Publications
    Digital or printed books, magazines and other forms of publications created
    for commercial, social responsibility or internal company or brand
    communication purposes (annual reports, occasional and seasonal
    publications, etc.).
 3. Innovation in Print & Publishing
    Advertising that shows transformative ideas, devices or methods in its
    execution.

OUT OF HOME (OOH)

OUT OF HOME group is intended for works that made an impact with out of home
advertising practices and creative uses of OOH in the following categories:

CATEGORIES:

 1. Billboards
    Two-dimensional media sheet and static digital billboards made for standard
    billboard spaces.
 2. Posters
    Classic sheet and static digital posters made for public spaces.
 3. Digital screens
    Any conventional digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising that uses moving,
    dynamic digital displays.
 4. Ambient & Experiential
    Non-standard and free-format out-of-home work that leverages the use of
    public spaces, objects and environments.
 5. Innovation in outdoor
    The creative and/or innovative use of the out-of-home medium to communicate
    the brand’s message.

GROUP C: OUT OF HOME (OOH)

OOH group includes classic billboards, posters and out-of-home ambient
executions as well as non-standard (digital and adapted) solutions.


REQUIRED MATERIALS

Two images are required, the first being the actual work and the second the
display of the work in a context.

 * The first image will be exhibited during the Festival, screened at the award
   ceremony, should the entry be awarded, as well as published in the entries
   showcase on www.goldendrum.com.
 * The second image showing the display of the work in a context will only be
   screened for the judging.

Only files as JPEG will be accepted.

AUDIO

AUDIO group is intended for works that communicate through audio platforms such
as radio, podcasts... in the following categories:

CATEGORIES:

 1. Radio & Audio
    All audio advertisements broadcast on traditional or online radio channels
    and other ambient channels (train stations, shopping centres, etc.).
 2. Other forms of audio communication
    Any form of audio communication that is not broadcasted on traditional radio
    channels. The communication can use existing audio channels (podcasts),
    music platforms (SoundCloud, Deezer, etc.).
 3. Creative use of Sound
    This category is open to communication solutions that originate from or are
    based on sound. The communication solution must demonstrate innovative forms
    of audio communication (eg. sound effect, etc.).

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS


GROUP D: AUDIO

AUDIO group includes traditional advertising on radio stations and paid-for
online radio channels as well as audio experience solutions. 


REQUIRED MATERIALS

 * Either audio (MP3),
 * or as video (MP4) + screenshot (JPEG),
 * or as video (MP4) + screenshot (JPEG) + audio (MP3).

In case the original language of the radio ad is not English, the entrant is
required to submit an English version, either with appropriate voice-over effect
or by adding English subtitles – transcription of the ad.

Please note that the format of the required material depends on the way entrant
submits the English version of the ad:

 * Audio file (MP3): In case the original language of the radio ad is not
   English, the entrant is required to submit an English version with a
   voice-over sound.

OR

 * Video file (MP4): In case the original language of the radio ad is not
   English, the entrant is required to submit the ad in the original language
   with added subtitles – transcription of the ad in English.

The specifications for MP3 file uploads are:

DIGITAL, MOBILE & TECHNOLOGY group is intended for works that demonstrate
exceptional creativity in digital, mobile or technology related categories:

CATEGORIES:

 1. Communication and Corporate Websites
    Websites that are intended for news, blogs, entertainment, informational
    websites, educational websites and portals or websites that officially
    represent a brand, company or business.
 2. Social Networking Solutions & Community Sites
    Any social activity for predetermined communities, groups or individuals
    that reaches their users through one channel.
 3. Streaming/Downloadable Creative Content and Podcasts
    Any content created for various streaming platforms, downloadable content
    and podcasts.
 4. Banners and Off-Site Advertising
    Standard and rich media banners.
 5. Games
    Any mobile and computer games that can be accessed via the web or downloaded
    from app stores and other platforms, including games specifically made for a
    product, service or brand and games that feature a brand as an integral
    component of gameplay. Gamevertising and charity & non-profit games
    included. 
 6. Apps and Mobile Content
    Apps and Mobile Content created exclusively for mobile platforms created to
    promote a brand, product, service or message.
 7. AR / VR / Voice-activation, Data / Insight, Metaverse
    Creative applications of AR/VR as an entity to create meaningful and
    immersive brand experiences and use of Voice-activation, creative use of
    data or metaverse, which played an integral role in the brand’s message or
    distribution strategy.
 8. NFT
    Unique digitally-minted assets distributed by a brand.

DESIGN

DESIGN group is intended for works that show exceptional design and the way it
helps increase consumer recognition of a brand. We also welcome digital design
in various forms and print design such as calendars, annual reports etc.

CATEGORIES:

 1. Visual Identities
    Brand and corporate logotypes, branding and visual identity systems with at
    least three elements.
 2. Business and Promotional Design
    Business gifts, promotional clothing, samples, promotional items.
 3. Packaging Design
    Any exterior of a product that through its creative use of graphics, colours
    or fonts tells a story.
 4. Product Design
    No concept designs are eligible.
 5. Digital Design
    Any type of visual communication that presents information, product or
    service through a digital interface.
 6. Print Design
    Calendars, publications, annual reports, invitations, postcards, seasonal
    greetings cards, books…
 7. Posters
    Temporary promotion of an idea, product, or event put up in a public space
    for mass consumption in form of a poster.
