María Sánchez holds a Ph.D. in psychology (Fielding Graduate University, 2022).
Maria is a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEI&A) Ambassador
earned through The National Diversity Collaborative, Inc., Washington DC. She
also holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology (Pepperdine University,
2017), and a master’s degree in media psychology (Fielding Graduate University,
2019). María was elected to Fielding Graduate University’s Board of Trustees in
2019 as a full voting member and she still serves. María was also elected as
Fielding’s student body president from 2018 to 2020. María’s doctoral
dissertation was on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and is entitled, “Using the
Bystander Intervention Model to Improve Efforts to Reduce Female Genital
Mutilation.” She is an activist in the eradication of the procedure, which has
affected 200 million girls and women who are alive today. This is the reason

attended the United Nations’ “International Day of Zero Tolerance” for Female

Dr. Shamecca Monique Scott is the Installation Director for Psychological Health

active-duty service members and their family. Dr. Scott completed her pre and
post-doctoral clinical psychology training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center,
which had a name change to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Shortly
after the completion of her doctorate degree, Dr. Scott graduated from the
Army’s Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (S.E.R.E) level- C school where she
also received certification as an S.E.R.E psychologist. In addition to a
doctorate degree in clinical psychology, Dr. Scott holds a post-graduate Master
of Science degree in clinical psychopharmacology. To enhance her education in
the treatment of trauma- related disorders, in 2016, Dr. Scott graduated from

Nneka Hall is the mother of four. She is a Maternal Health Advocate and full
spectrum doula, who resides in Massachusetts. She founded Quietly United in Loss
Together (QUILT) in 2014 and was invited to the US of Women’s Summit as a
Nominated Change Maker in 2016. In September 2019 she was appointed to the Ellen
Story Postpartum Depression Commission and was invited to be Congresswoman
Ayanna Pressley’s guest at the State of the Union(2020) because of her work in
Maternal Health. Nneka founded Mother IS Supreme Inc. because she saw a need to
change the way the postpartum body is supported. She was appointed to the Racial
Inequities in Maternal Health Commission in January of 2021 followed by joining
the board of PSI and MA in September of that same year. She is a Count the Kicks
Ambassador and a US of Women Ambassador. In April of 2022, Nneka was accepted
into the 2020 Moms Nonprofit State Fellows Program and recently became a Hey
Mama Community Connector. Nneka Hall is the mother of four (2 Sunshines ages 22
and 17, an Angel baby who would be 12 and a Rainbow who is 8). She is a whole
woman advocate who provides in person and virtual support to women through any
life phase. She is a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Advocate with a primary
focus on infant and maternal mortality within the African American Community. In
2014 she founded Quietly United in Loss Together (QUILT) Campaign which is a
Pregnancy And Infant Loss Awareness campaign designed to raise awareness of all
types of loss from conception through a child's first two years of life, teach
healthy fertility through womb health education, provide support to families who
suffer these losses and provide support for memory programs so they won't close
due to inability to afford supplies. Following the stillbirth of her daughter in
August 2010, Nneka sought out ways to aid others in having a positive birth
outcome. June 2016 Nneka had the pleasure of being selected due to her work in
the pregnancy and infant loss community to participate in the US of Women's
Summit as a Nominated Change Maker which was hosted by former First Lady
Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey. January 2019 The This Is My Brave Short
Documentary premiered and Nneka stepped way outside of her comfort zone by being
one of the people featured. March 2019 she received an Advocate of the Year
Award from The Boston Public Health Commission’s Community Action Network. May
2019 was a fruitful one for Nneka. She spoke about Black Maternal / Fetal Health

Dr. Banafsheh Azizi provides a sense of normalcy to children with terminal
illnesses so that kids can be kids no matter the health challenges they’re
facing. She is COO of Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice, the only hospice in the
Middle East that provides pediatric palliative and psychosocial care for
children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions. She also leads The
Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital, which serves more than
60,000 children, siblings, and parents in hospitals across Kuwait through
psychosocial services. From Azizi’s start as a journalist to consulting, and to
eventually returning to the Middle East to help lead three nonprofits, one of
her core values has always been giving back to society in whatever capacity she
could. Azizi, who is Iranian-American, was born in the United Kingdom and raised
in Kuwait. When she was 18, she left Kuwait to continue her education in the
U.S. at Georgia Tech. After earning her bachelor’s and master’s in International
Affairs in 2004 and 2008, respectively, she began a career in journalism at CNN
International, CBS 46 Atlanta, and CBS News. From there, she joined Booz Allen
Hamilton in Washington, D.C., to provide consulting in the areas of strategy,
policy, and strategic communication. In 2012, she made a personal decision to
return to the Middle East. “It was time to go back and apply what I’d learned in

Debra is a strategic and visionary leader who has consistently excelled at

Israel Hurtado is an expert lawyer in the field of Energy, as well as in
lobbying and communication strategies. He has an extensive experience in public
and private sectors, where he has demonstrated a creative and powerful
leadership throughout his professional carrier. In his private practice, he has
advised national and international companies in the development of their energy
and infrastructure projects as well as in the development of lobbying and
communication strategies in situations of political crisis and war rooms. In the
Legislative sphere, he contributed to the drafting of laws as a Legislator in
the Nuevo León Congress and in the Federal Congress. In the Municipal government
field, he served as Secretary of the City Council of the Municipality of San
Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, his native land. Likewise, as a General Director
of Legislative Liaison of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation, he
developed prompting strategies with the Chambers of Deputies and Senators, in
conjunction with the state and municipal governments; he also developed
communication strategies transmitted later as the spokesman for the Secretariat.
In the energy field as Head of Legal Affair Unit of the Ministry of Energy, he
developed legal strategies and always successfully represented the Secretary in
several court cases. Simultaneously, he served as secretary of the Boards of
Directors of Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) and the Federal Electricity Commission
(CFE), which allowed him to obtain a global vision of the operations of both
state-owned companies. He also contributed -as a Commissioner in the Energy
Regulatory Commission- to the elaboration of provisions that boosted the gas,
oil and electricity sectors including renewable energies. Given his experience
in the regulation of renewable energies, he was invited to be the founding
Executive Director of the Mexican Solar Energy Association, contributing to its
growth by increasing the number of associates from 10 to 130. Due to his
outstanding professional performance, he was requested by the US law firm
Thompson and Knight, to serve as International Senior Counsel, where he was
recognized as the best energy lawyer in Mexico by the US publication Best
Lawyers. With an innovative vision, Israel Hurtado founded the Mexican Hydrogen
Association and from there, he promoted the development of hydrogen industry in
Mexico. In the academic field -and also in an innovative way-, he founded the
Diploma in Energy Law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho, being the first time that
Energy Law was implemented as a subject in Mexico. Derived from the success of
the Diploma, he was invited to collaborate in the creation of the Academic
Programs of the Master's in Energy Law at the Autonomous University of Nuevo
León and the Specialty in Energy Law at the University of Monterrey. In the
business environment, Israel Hurtado is member of the Energy Commissions of the
Business Coordinating Council, as well as of the National Confederation of
Industrial Chambers of Comerce and he is also Director of Action Tank Mexico

Osariemen Grace Omoruyi is a leading voice for restorative justice in Nigeria
and the founder of Restorative Justice for Africa Initiative (REJA), an
organization that was inspired by her lived experiences of gross human rights
violations. Her passion for human rights advocacy came early in life when her
uncle was unjustly incarcerated on a trumped-up charge of armed robbery that
carries the death penalty. Through REJA, she ensures that underserved people
have equal access to justice and no one is denied access to justice due to their
economic status. Prior to starting REJA, Osariemen served as the youngest female

Johannesburg. She holds a PhD in political science from the University of
Pretoria. Her master’s and honours were in Development Studies from UNISA. As a
feminist political economist, her work explores the gendered dimension of trade,

policy, politics and digitalization, international political economy, gender
inequality and poverty reduction strategies. Tinuade has published a wide range

Stacey Susa-Pinto is a best-selling author and sought after International Trade
professional. She has spent over 8 years working in various trade related
capacities with a major focus on inter-governmental economic diplomacy, trade
programming as well as market access and trade facilitation issues. Having
transitioned from private to public sector, Ms Pinto has helped shift
perceptions regarding the effectiveness of the public sector as she currently
serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Trade Forum – an agency of
the Namibian Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade. The Namibia Trade Forum is
responsible for institutionalising public-private dialogue on matters related to
trade and investment for purposes of inputting into trade policy. Ms Pinto’s key
functions as CEO of the Namibia Trade Forum are to drive and deliver on the
organisation’s strategic plans while leveraging off her regional and
international networks to increase the funding, impact and visibility of the
organization. The Namibia Trade Forum has launched and pioneered one of the
biggest campaigns in Namibia – the buy Local, Grow Namibia campaign which aims
to encourage retailers to create shelf space for locally produced/manufactured
goods. This brought on board other partners such as the UN in Namibia and the
national broadcasting corporation (NBC). She also serves on the Ministerial
Namibia Brand Building Committee. Ms Pinto is also the Acting Chief Executive
Officer of GS1 Namibia. GS1 is a not-for-profit organization that develops and
maintains global standards for business communication – the best known of these
standards is the barcode, a symbol printed on products that can be scanned
electronically. Namibia has recently become a GS1 member and in this role Ms
Pinto is responsible for the initial setting up of strategy, systems and
processes that will ensure the smooth running of the organisation and deliver on
its mandate to increase market access for locally produced goods. Prior to the
Namibia Trade Forum and GS1 Namibia, she worked for the United Kingdom
Government in Namibia as Global Trade Programme Advisor and was responsible for
managing Namibia and eSwatini’s trade programming to ensure that these countries
could continue trading with the United Kingdom after Brexit. She was also
selected and invited by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to partake in the
first of its kind training in London to help role out trade related training to
all United Kingdom posts across Africa. Her experience and networks across the
Southern African region saw her play a pivotal role in the transition trade
talks between the United Kingdom and the Southern Africa as well as enhance UK
trade perceptions in the region. Her experience and advice also enhanced the
relationship between the UK and the SACU and Mozambique partners and helped
bring the transition talks to a conclusion coupled with the launch of a trade
capacity building programme for which she became advisor. She currently still,
is contracted by DAI and serves as national lead consultant for the programme.
Prior to her role with the UK government, Ms Pinto worked as a University Law
Lecturer at the University of Namibia – lecturing modules such administrative
law, criminal law as well as Namibian customary law. A business woman with a
growing wellness brand, Ms Pinto is a great communicator and influencer for
young career and business women and speaks often on various platforms
encouraging young women to find their purpose and calling. She is also an alumni
of TedX Talks with a viewership of over 10000 on her ted talk titled: your gift

Simone O’Brien is a domestic violence survivor, speaker, strong advocate for
women against violence, and mother of three beautiful children. Her journey
started in 2012 when she suffered a horrific attack at the hands of a
perpetrator who would not take “no” for an answer. It started with emotional and
psychological abuse and ended up with her being beaten with a baseball bat to
within inches of her life. Somehow, with the support of family and friends,
Simone got through that night and today, she travels around Australia and
Internationally, to share her story of courage and strength, to raise awareness
on the red flags related to domestic violence and prevent these incidences from
happening again. Using her personal story of determination, resilience, courage
and strength, Simone aims to champion non-violence against women and children.
