Quality Improvement EPISODE IV A NEW HOPE In 2015, for most employees of the Trust, QI was merely the name of a popular quiz show. Staff were driven by compliance and felt unequipped to make changes for good. Recognising this, Clare P and Celia S brought in the improvement master Richard Bohmer to start staff thinking in a different way. These case based discussions were thought provoking, but high level and the need for a more utilitarian approach was apparent. A group of rebels decided to develop a new approach and started the improvement academy in 2016, training small numbers of staff in the skills of improvement. In 2017, this core group linked with like minded people throughout the nation and joined the QSIR network. The rebel high command of Jenny, Emma, Becky and Aroon trained to be QSIR - Practioners: skilled in the high arts of improvement and able to train disciples of their own. So began the QI journey....
