AS WE REFLECT ON 2021 AT THE HAZELDEN BETTY FORD FOUNDATION, WE ARE GRATEFUL
THAT YOU WERE BY OUR SIDE.

When our pandemic story is told, it will show that with your help, we were
steadfast in our commitment to our patients and their families. Despite
uncertainty, our doors remained open every day—while we prioritized the health
and safety of our patients. We grew our mental health services and broadened our
reach in more communities in new ways through the launch of partnerships. Our
story will include leading-edge addiction and recovery care, education,
research, and prevention services.

As we emerge from the pandemic, we know that forged within the fires of
adversity are the strongest foundations of our future. Now, we must embark on a
new chapter at Hazelden Betty Ford—informed by the power of our stories.

future—in which we can help more individuals, families and communities affected
by addiction. Together, we can bring to life our boldest aspirations.

Through a record-breaking $15 million in philanthropic support this year, you
demonstrated your support and commitment during a time when people needed us
more than ever.

A STORY OF HOPE

Her daughter’s participation in the Hazelden Betty Ford Children’s Program was a
turning point for Reyna in her struggle with addiction. “Miaveya became the key
to my sobriety — and our family’s recovery,” she says.

journey to use his experience to help others — all thanks to Hazelden Betty

FOSTERING EMPATHY

“A medical professional is often the first person who finds out about someone’s
addiction,” says Rob Reifschneider. “But they have no training.” With a new
partnership between Hazelden Betty Ford and the Mayo Clinic Alix School of
Medicine, Rob, along with other supporters, is helping make strides to change
that.
