   your fingertips, anywhere, on any device.

 * HOW CAN I ACCESS PROVIEW AND ON WHICH DEVICES?
   
   
   
   The Thomson Reuters ProView web-based application is accessed via your
   browser. ProView is compatible with Chrome, Edge and Firefox browsers (latest
   two versions). With the new ProView web application, offline capability is
   now available from your browser. The new web application has a responsive
   design and is compatible with desktop, laptop and mobile devices.


 * WHAT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE NEEDED TO RUN THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW?
   
   
   
   All ProView platforms/apps will be consolidated into a new single, responsive
   web app.  The new web application has a responsive design and is compatible
   with desktop, laptop and mobile devices.


 * WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPATIBILITY FOR THE NEW PROVIEW WEB
   APP?
   
   
    * Minimum 16GB of memory
    * 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-6200U Processor or better (2.30 GHz, up to
      2.80 GH.z with Turbo Boost,
    * 2 Cores, 4 Threads, 3 MB Cache
    * Minimum 1 Mbps download network speed
    * Browser Compatibility: Chrome, Edge, Firefox (latest two versions).
      (Safari compatibility coming soon.)


 * HOW IS THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW DIFFERENT FROM A PDF? 
   
   
   With ProView titles, you can:
    * Link to full-text cases in Westlaw Canada or in Taxnet Pro™
    * Search across your entire ProView library and within a specific title
    * Create a PDF that you can save, print, add notes to, and share
    * Add your own notes, highlights, or bookmarks that will automatically
      transfer to updated editions
    * Search within your bookmarks, highlights, and notes for easy reference
    * Search within the Table of Contents or jump to specific sections of the
      title directly from the Table of Contents
    * Customize your display with choice of fonts, text sizes, and colours
    * Access your entire ProView library with one username and password


 * CAN I SHARE CONTENT WITH OTHERS?
   
   
   
   Yes, there are two options for sharing content. You can create a link to
   relevant content that can be shared with ProView users who have access to
   that same publication in ProView, or you can generate a PDF of relevant
   content to print or email.
   
    * You can include footnote text in a PDF only if you choose to share This
      Page, share This Section or select the footnotes manually, select Share
      and add them to the PDF.

   You can access hundreds of eLooseleaf and eBook titles on Proview and the
   list is continuing to grow. For the most current list of titles available,
   please visit the Thomson Reuters ProView information page.


 * HOW DO I ORDER?
   
   
   
   You can purchase Thomson Reuters ProView titles:
   
    *  through online stores (store.thomsonreuters.ca;
      store.thomsonreuters.ca/fr-ca/home);
    * by phone at 416-609-3800 or at 1-800-387-5164, between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM
      EST;
    * through your Information Solutions Associate or Account Representative; or
    * e-mail Customer Relations team with details of your order.




ACCESS


 * HOW DO I ACCESS PROVIEW ON THE NEW WEB APP?   
   
   
   
   Navigate to the ProView login at next-proview.thomsonreuters.com and sign in
   with your existing OnePass credentials. If you are new to ProView, you must
   first create a OnePass profile (if you don’t already have one) and add your
   ProView registration key to your profile before you can begin using your
   ProView titles. You can create or update your OnePass profile at OnePass. 


 * WHAT IF I FORGET MY LOGIN INFORMATION (ONEPASS NUMBER OR REGISTRATION KEY) TO
   ACCESS MY EBOOK?
   
   
   
   You can retrieve your OnePass login credentials by clicking the “Forgot
   username or password?” option from the OnePass login screen at OnePass. If
   you have misplaced your registration key, please contact Carswell Customer
   Relations at 416-609-3800 or at 1-800-387-5164 between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM
   EST.


 * WHAT IF I MISPLACED MY WELCOME EMAIL?
   
   
   
   If you have misplaced your welcome email, please contact Technical Support.


 * CAN I ACCESS PROVIEW ON MY PC/LAPTOP AND ON MY TABLE OR MOBILE DEVICE AT THE
   SAME TIME?
   
   
   
   Yes, you can have up to two browser sessions open concurrently. To open a
   second session, you can open two browser tabs in incognito or private mode,
   use two different browsers, or use two different devices. 


 * DO I ALWAYS NEED AN INTERNET CONNECTION TO USE THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW?
   
   
   
   No. You can access downloaded content from your web application while you are
   offline. You will need to first download your titles for offline use, which
   requires an internet connection. You can download publications from the
   library by choosing “Download title” from the overflow menu on the title card
   of the publication you wish to download. You can also download a publication
   from within the opened title by clicking the download icon in the header.
   Once the titles have been downloaded, you can access them through the ProView
   web application without an internet connection. You can access, read and
   search your downloaded content while offline. 


 * CAN I ACCESS MY THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW TITLE ON A DIFFERENT READER DEVICE
   LIKE KOBO OR KINDLE?
   
   
   
   No. Thomson Reuters ProView titles are not accessible from these reader
   devices.


 * CAN I ACCESS MY KOBO OR KINDLE EBOOK ON THE THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW?
   
   
   
   No. Kobo and Kindle eBooks are not accessible through the Thomson Reuters
   ProView platform.


 * WHERE CAN I FIND FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW?

   In addition, whether you are new to ProView or just need a quick refresher,
   every purchase or subscription to a ProView title includes complimentary
   product training. You can choose from live, on-demand, or customized learning

EXISTING CUSTOMERS / SUBSCRIPTION MANAGEMENT


 * CAN I GET THE THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW VERSION ONLY, WITHOUT PURCHASING THE
   PRINT VERSION?
   
   
   
   Yes. Please browse the list of available titles on the Thomson Reuters
   ProView information page.


 * CAN I RETURN MY PURCHASE?
   
   
   
   ProView eBook and eLooseleaf purchases are exempt from our 45-day return
   policy for print products and considered a final sale, whether sold alone or
   as part of a print/ProView bundle. 


 * WHY ARE PROVIEW AND RELATED PURCHASES A FINAL SALE?
   
   
   
   This change is part of our efforts to align our billing, subscription and
   cancellation policies regarding online, hosted, software and ProView eBook
   and eLooseleaf products across Thomson Reuters globally. 


 * HOW LONG DO I HAVE ACCESS TO MY THOMSON REUTERS PROVIEW EBOOK FOR – DOES IT
   DISAPPEAR ONCE A NEW EDITION IS PUBLISHED?
   
   
   
   No, your purchased Thomson Reuters ProView ebook will not disappear. You will
   continue to have access to every Thomson Reuters ProView edition you have
   purchased.


 * HOW DO I REGISTER AND MANAGE MULTIPLE USERS?
   
   
   
   As an administrator, you can choose to continue to communicate any changes to
   Thomson Reuters, or you may choose to register for My Account Password
   Administration to add or remove user access and edit user information
   yourself.


 * HOW MANY USERS CAN I HAVE FOR EACH DOWNLOAD?
   
   
    * For eBooks: Each eBook purchase allows access to Thomson Reuters ProView
      version of that same title for one registered user/entitled user*. In
      order to get access to the Thomson Reuters ProView version, you are
      required to register all entitled users with us and only those users may
      access the Thomson Reuters ProView version.
    * For eLooseleafs: Your ProView subscription can provide you with access for
      multiple users within the same office location, with the cost of one
      subscription**.
   
   * Not available to trade bookstores, third-party distributors, and academic
   institutions.
   ** Not available to trade bookstores, third-party distributors and academic
   institutions. Large number of registered users may result in a higher
   subscription cost than those quoted in catalogues.


 * CAN I COPY MY NOTES FROM A PREVIOUS EDITION EBOOK TO THE NEW EDITION?
   
   
   
   Yes, you can copy your notes from a previous edition eBook to the new
   edition. The instructions to copy notes from one Thomson Reuters ProView
   eBook edition to another are as follows:
   
    * To import your bookmarks, notes, and highlights from one edition to the
      next, choose ‘Import annotations’ from the title card overflow menu. 




PRIVACY


 * WHAT IF I LOSE MY DEVICE?
   
   
   
   Your Thomson Reuters ProView titles will automatically sync to your new
   device, when you install the Thomson Reuters ProView app and log in with your
   OnePass password. Any notes/annotations that have been backed up to our
   servers will likewise sync.


 * ARE MY NOTES SECURE?
   
   
   
   Yes, notes are stored in Thomson Reuters secure data centers. Only the named
   user has access to the notes – for this reason, please do not share your
   Thomson Reuters ProView login credentials.


 * CAN I LEND MY DEVICE TO SOMEONE ELSE?
   
   
   
   In order to get access to the Thomson Reuters ProView version, you are
   required to register all entitled users, and only those users may access the
   Thomson Reuters ProView version. Also, please note that sharing devices may
   compromise any private or confidential information linked to your
   access/account information, or to any notes/annotations you may have made.




ELOOSELEAFS ON PROVIEW


 * WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EBOOKS AND ELOOSELEAFS ON PROVIEW?
   
   
   
   The eBooks on Proview consist of individual monographs or annually published
   books. eLooseleafs consist of the supplemented book titles organized into
   practice area collections. Updates to these supplemented titles are loaded
   automatically.
   
   eLooseleaf titles are available in all practice area verticals, including:

 * WHEN ELECTRONIC CUSTOMERS CANCEL THEIR SUBSCRIPTION, DO THEY STILL HAVE
   ACCESS TO THE “ELECTRONIC RELEASES” THAT THEY PAID FOR? ARE THEY ARCHIVED?
   
   
   
   No. Online-only customers who cancel will not have access to any archival
   data. eLooseleafs on Proview work best together in the print and online
   format, however online-only subscriptions are available. Many of our
   Customers continue to use both formats and enjoyed the flexibility and
   convenience of having access to both formats.


 * ARE THERE FREE TRIALS OFFERED TO NEW CUSTOMERS?
   
   
   
   No.  ProView eLooseleaf free trials are not available.


 * WITH PRINT LOOSELEAFS, CUSTOMERS ARE NOTIFIED OF A NEW RELEASE/SUPPLEMENT
   UPDATE BY RECEIVING IT ALONG WITH A PUBLISHER’S NOTE HIGHLIGHTING WHAT’S IN
   THE UPDATE. HOW ARE ONLINE ONLY SUBSCRIBERS ADVISED OR NOTIFIED OF UPDATES?
   
   
   
   Subscribers to online access who wish to continue with their print
   subscriptions will continue to receive their print releases according to the
   usual practice. They will be notified by email notification. In addition, a
   monthly email will be distributed to all eLooseleafs subscribers, which will
   contain a link that includes electronic versions of all of the most recent
   Publisher’s Notes for each publication.


 * WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TOPICAL TEXTS AND ANNOTATIONS AND ELOOSELEAFS
   ON PROVIEW?
   
   
   
   Topical Texts and Annotations on Westlaw and eLooseleafs on ProView differ in
   platform and in the ways in which they are purchased.  Topical Texts and
   Annotations are accessed on the Westlaw platform alongside all
   other Westlaw content, and eLooseleafs on ProView are accessed on ProView
   along side all other ProView content.  The functionality of the respective
   platforms applies to the content and ProView content will continue to appear
   in federated search results on Westlaw.   The eLooseleaf titles on ProView
   can be purchased individually.  The concept is that of a “virtual” library
   where subscribers can pick and choose the titles they need. Topical Texts and
   Annotations must be purchased as Topical Collections. The publication
   content is consistent between Westlaw and ProView.


 * ARE THERE LINKS TO FULL TEXT CASE LAW IN WESTLAW CANADA OR TAXNET PRO?
   
   
   
   Yes. Links to full text case law are now included and enabled for most cases
   cited in eLooseleafs commentary. This functionality enables eLooseleaf users
   to link out to full text cases in Westlaw Canada or Taxnet Pro from case
   citation links included in the eLooseleaf titles. The link out requires users
   to have an existing Westlaw Canada or Taxnet Pro subscription and an active
   session opened in either Westlaw Canada or Taxnet Pro.


 * CAN ELOOSELEAFS CAN BE SEARCHED ALL AT ONCE AND WITHOUT LOGGING INTO A
   SESSION WITHOUT A PASSWORD?
   
   
   
   No. This is not possible with eLooseleafs. A search of all titles can only be
   done once a user is logged in and only to those titles subscribed to.


 * CAN SUBSCRIBERS WITH PASSWORDS DO “ALL PRODUCTS” SEARCHES?
   
   
   
   Yes, customers may search across their entire library of subscribed titles
   from the library view of the ProView platform.


 * IS IP ADDRESS AUTHENTICATION ACCESS AVAILABLE FOR ELOOSELEAFS ON PROVIEW?
   
   
   
   Yes, Users will be able to access any eLooseleaf title from their firm or
   organization’s intranet. Users with IP address authentication will not be
   able to use the personalized features such as notes, annotations,
   highlighting, or bookmarking. However, it does allow for the administrative
   managers to very quickly allow for Proview access to their entire
   organization without having to set up individual OnePass access for every
   member of the firm.


 * WHAT IF MY FIRM HAS OPTED FOR IP AUTHENTICATION BUT CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE
   FIRM WANT TO USE THE PERSONALIZED FEATURES?
   
   
   
   A feature called IP Personalization will allow individual users in firms and
   organizations with IP address authentication to make use of the personalized
   features such as notes and highlights. This option will be the default
   setting for IPAA customers (see also next question). Each time a user logs in
   a window will open allowing that user to create a personal account on the fly
   and obtain individual OnePass access to those eLooseleaf titles to which
   their firm subscribes. (This option can be disabled at the firm level if
   desired, disabling the personalization feature). The individual OnePass
   access is necessary to access the personalized features.


 * WHAT ARE THE FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF THE IP PERSONALIZATION OPTION?
   
   
   
   Individual IP Personalization users will be able to use all of the features
   of the Proview platform including the personalized functions such as the
   Notes and Annotations, highlighting, and bookmarking. Without IP
   Personalization, users in the organization will be unable to make use of
   these personalized features. The IPP window that appears enables users to
   choose whether to enter the personalized environment or not at an individual
   level, relieving the administrative managers of this task. Each user will
   then be responsible for logging in using their OnePass credentials.


 * IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THE DEFAULT IP PERSONALIZATION OPTION TO BE “TURNED OFF”
   AT THE REQUEST OF IPAA CUSTOMERS?
   
   
   
   Yes, we can disable the IP Personalization option at the request of IPAA
   customers so that this option is not visible or accessible to their
   end-users.

 * WHAT TRAINING MATERIALS AND/OR USER GUIDES ARE AVAILABLE TO USERS ON
   ELOOSELEAFS ON PROVIEW?
   
   
   
   We offer print “Quick Reference Guides” together with “how to” and other
   training videos, live training sessions via webex, etc., through the CPD
   Centre. These live training sessions have been accredited by the Law Society
   of Ontario and will count towards the user’s mandatory CPD hours under the
   Ethics/Professionalism requirement.


 * WHAT DO THE ELOOSELEAFS ON PROVIEW COST?
   
   
   
   Online access to eLooseleafs on ProView is included with a print subscription
   at the subscribing location. There is no additional cost for users of
   eLooseleafs on ProView. Customers will continue to be charged for each new
   release uploaded to the eLooseleaf.


 * WILL PAGE NUMBERS BE ADDED TO ELOOSELEAF TITLES SO THAT USERS CAN PROPERLY
   CITE THE BOOKS?
   
   
   
   Looseleaf titles, whether in print or electronically (i.e. as eLooseleafs,
   WLNC, etc.) should be cited to chapter and section number/heading, and not to
   page or paragraph numbers. The reason for this is that pages frequently
   change from release to release, and in fact, page and paragraph numbers have
   never been an appropriate way of citing our looseleaf titles, even in print.
   This remains the case now that they are available electronically.
