JOB DESCRIPTION




CANVASSER POSITION DESCRIPTION

A Democratic candidate for Congress from Virginia is hiring a canvasser for a
primary campaign. The canvasser will work under the Field Director and Field
Organizers and operate within designated sections of Northern Virginia to
maximize primary voter contact and persuasion.

Roles/Duties

 * Work to hit weekly goals regarding outreach, including but not limited to
   (calls to volunteers and doors knocked)
 * Provide the Field Director and other staff daily/weekly updates regarding
   voter contact, recruitment, and progress on weekly goals
 * Work with the Field Director, Field Organizers, the candidate, campaign
   staff, volunteers, and relevant grassroots organizers to implement a
   successful primary campaign
 * Conduct door-to-door canvassing to promote our campaign and engage with
   voters

Job Requirements

 * Prior canvassing or sales experience is preferred
 * A background/connection to Northern Virginia is preferred but not required
 * Experience using Mini-VAN app is preferred
 * Full availability for the last two weeks before the Election on June 18th is
   required
 * Must have strong interpersonal skills
 * Ability to walk and stand for long hours is a must! The canvasser will be
   spending 4-6 hours on doors each day
 * Detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
 * Strong oral and written communication skills
 * Ability to work with volunteers with a variety of skills and backgrounds
 * Access to a reliable vehicle as travel is required
 * Working smart phone with data plan
 * Must be located close to the district or willing to relocate

Compensation

 * $20/hour
 * Expected 32-40 hours each week with more hours available in the final two
   weeks
 * Health Insurance
 * Mobile Phone Stipend
 * Mileage

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
