WHY ARE BOTOX AND FILLER INJECTIONS SO EXPENSIVE?

If you regularly get Botox treatments, you may have wondered about the cost.
With Botox and other types of filler injections, there are many variables that
affect the price of the treatment. When you understand what these variables are,
you can compare what you get from different providers while feeling comfortable
that you’re paying a fair rate for the treatment you desire.

WHAT AFFECTS THE COST OF BOTOX AND FILLER INJECTIONS

Service providers set their own prices, which usually reflect the cost of the
fillers and a portion of their business costs–that’s how they make money with
Botox injections. So a business that has more overhead, or is in an expensive
location such as California, will necessarily need to charge more for
treatments, so they can make a profit and stay in business.

The experience of the Botox treatment provider always impacts the cost of this
cosmetic treatment. The more years of experience someone has, the higher the
price they can charge for Botox treatments. Any specialty treatments that go
along with Botox injections also add to the cost.

The reverse can be true, too. If you find filler injections advertised for an
unbelievably low price, then the service provider may be new to Botox injections
and trying to drum up business. Do you really want to be the one of the first
patients this person practices on? Do you know where they were trained, and have
the confidence that they understand how to administer Botox safely so you get
the results you want?

If a novice service provider administers too much Botox in the forehead area,
for example, you’ll wind up with that telltale “sleepy” look, where you can’t
fully open your eyes. If there’s too much Botox on the entire face, your face
will be frozen and mask-like, where you can’t make natural facial expressions.
Given the risks to your appearance of a inexperienced, inexpensive provider,
it’s worth your interests to pay a bit more for the experience of someone who
offers the treatment you want in a natural way.

Botox is often talked about as if it’s a standard procedure, but the quantity of
filler delivered varies on a patient by patient basis. Obviously, the more
injections you need in a given area, the larger the quantity of Botox you’re
getting. With a single unit of Botox often advertised within the range of $10 to
$15, you might think treatment will be quite cheap, but if you end up getting
dozens of injections, the overall cost adds up quickly.
