THE NZ SUPER FUND STORY Created in 2001 after an extensive public and Parliamentary debate, the Fund is a way for New Zealand to save now in order to make future superannuation costs more affordable. It’s needed because New Zealand’s population is getting older. TARANAKI OFFSHORE WIND The NZ Super Fund and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners are excited to accelerate efforts to bring large scale offshore wind to South Taranaki – supporting New Zealand’s 2030 renewable energy ambitions, and a clean energy transition for the Taranaki region. CLIMATE CHANGE We factor the risks and opportunities stemming from climate change into our investment strategies and ownership practices. Our goal is to make the NZ Super Fund more resilient to climate-related risk. WE DO NOT MANAGE PEOPLE’S PRIVATE SAVINGS The NZ Super Fund invests Government capital contributions, and the returns from those investments, to contribute to the Government's cost of paying superannuation entitlements in the future.
