Q: The bread has been sticking to my KAF bread pan with the last several loaves
I have made. Does the coating in the pan wear off after a few years? I am
reluctant to use non stick spray because I thought it would inhibit the rise. Is
it time to buy a new KAF pan? In an earlier question posted, the answer was that
the pans should last a lifetime. Why is the bread sticking?

A: Hi Ellen, thank you for your product question! As time goes on the non-stick
coating of these pans tend to need a little assistance. We recommend greasing
the pan with softened butter or a neutral oil to prevent sticking. Happy baking!

Q: Are these straight-sided pans? Ones we have now angle out, so they're wider
at the top than the bottom. Looking to replace them.

A: Hi Jan, These flare out, but our Pullman Pans and our Gluten-Free Loaf Pan
-which can be used for more than just GF baking- has nearly perpendicular sides.

Q: These pans sound really great but I am concerned about that they are made
from a combination of steel and aluminum. Will the clear silicon coating seal
any areas of aluminum to keep it from contact with the bread dough?

Q: I understand that bread doughs vary in weight, but about how much should the
dough weigh that is going into this size pan? I like to make more than one loaf
at once and it would be helpful to have a dough weight estimate to try.

A: Hi Stephanie, thanks for your question! This pan is ideal for 1-1.5 pounds of
yeasted bread dough. The density of the dough will vary depending on the recipe,
but generally, recipes that call for approximately 360 grams of flour will fit

Q: I own 2 of these. I'm finding the finish n the interior is coming off in
little spots. Is this common? I don't know whether to throw them away or just

A: Hi Betty! Hand-washing is recommended for this pan. It cleans up easily by
just hand-rinsing in hot soapy water. For the longest life, you'll want to
towel-dry it to remove any adhering water, as the steel this pan is made from is
