Description

The Entry Level Programming with Scratch course was created by experienced
volunteers who currently work for EPAM Systems. The course is meant to help
beginner instructors in teaching Scratch.

Scratch is a visual programming language. This is an ideal coding method to
teach kids aged 7-12 the basics of programming.

During the learning process trainers:

 * learn about the features of Scratch programming language
 * create an individual course adapted for a certain group of kids
 * take part in new creative projects together with kids and other trainers
 * develop teamwork skills while being a part of an educational project

The course is made of 12 lessons that can be logically divided into blocks:
animation, interactive stories and personal project preparation. Each lesson
consists of the following parts: homework check, 2 parts of educational material
and an energizer-break.

Course Goal

Before starting the course, we recommend watching the video.

This course helps trainers to address the following problems:

 * how to teach kids the basics of programming and computer studies

 * how to involve kids in coding and creative projects

AUDIENCE

EPAM employees and external volunteers who would like to share their knowledge
and skills with kids.
