ABOUT POTASH

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest
potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of
Saskatoon.  BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen
project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize
sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is
expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during
construction and 900 long-term roles. 

 

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production
planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an
initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum
(Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. To find

WORK LOCATION

Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared
workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for
BHP.


PURPOSE

Reporting to the Organizational Readiness Manager, the Principal Organizational
Readiness provides develops and implements appropriate employment, retention,
and development initiatives to support all the workforce with a focus on diverse
employees.


ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will:

 * Support the establishment of graduate and Co-op student intake programs
   through the establishment of relationships with local universities.
 * Manage employment and training working groups with Opportunity Agreement
   First Nations.
 * Implement and govern operational support to career fairs.
 * Develop support services for employees through both training and employment
   opportunities.
 * Establish career advancement options from new to industry to both technical
   and leadership roles.
 * Support the establishment of new entry options into BHP operational roles.  
 * Support Indigenous Engagement and Community Affairs with operational
   readiness deliverables that impact diverse recruitment, retention, and
   development.  
 * Drive the culture plan within operations and associated initiatives to
   support the employees feeling valued.
 * Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating,
   managing, and analyzing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back
   on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy. 


ABOUT YOU

 * University graduation in social sciences, business or related disciplines.
 * A minimum of 10 years of professional experience and a minimum of 5 years
   experience in leading Indigenous engagement strategy.
 * Deep experience working with communities and a track record of developing
   trust and strong relationships with community leaders.
 * Relationship development experience with educational institutions and public
   institutions.
 * Knowledge and experience in the mining sector is considered an asset.
