MAXIM NAMED "MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR" BY NEDA

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 1, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Maxim Integrated Products
(Nasdaq:MXIM) was recently named the 2010 "Manufacturer of the Year" (Active
Components) by the National Electronics Distributors Association (NEDA). The
award, granted annually since 1990, acknowledges the NEDA member who best
exemplifies the spirit of partnership in the electronics distribution industry.
NEDA's selection of Maxim for this award acknowledges the tremendous progress
the Company has made in executing the distribution strategy it launched in
December 2007.

Over the last few years, Maxim has made numerous operational improvements to
advance its distribution strategy. Key initiatives include: building an internal
distribution-support organization comprising experienced distribution
executives, field personnel, and customer service; realigning global policies
and procedures to meet distribution needs; and developing technical training
programs and literature resources for distribution field staff. Altogether these
initiatives have greatly increased the ease of doing business with Maxim,
helping to ensure the success of the Company's expanded customer base and
distribution partners.
