Summary

The offshore wind (OSW) industry is finally gaining momentum along the US
Pacific coast. California has set an ambitious target of 25 GW by 2045 and is
preparing a strategic plan to be released by mid-2023. Oregon has fastened the
pace to identify lease areas. The optimism on the west coast appears to be
spreading to Washington as well, with developers submitting lease requests. To
realize their OSW goals the western states would need to prepare ahead and
address the challenges posed by complex regulatory requirements, constrained
supply chains and inadequate transmission infrastructure.

After organizing successful conferences on Offshore Wind Transmission in New
York over the last six years, Global Transmission is excited to announce the
launch edition of its Offshore Wind Transmission West conference to be held on
June 14-15, 2023 at San Francisco Marriott Union Square. The mission of the
conference is to discuss challenges and present solutions for building
cost-effective and efficient transmission infrastructure for meeting OSW targets
on the Pacific Coast.

The event will bring together government and industry leaders to share insights
and discuss solutions for achieving OSW goals and strengthening the grids to
integrate the planned projects. It will present the latest offshore wind
policies and development plans on the Pacific Coast. It will feature floating
OSW technology options, supply chain management, and logistics advancements in
building and managing the needed infrastructure.

The conference will provide a meeting place for key stakeholders to come
together and share their experiences, perspectives and lessons learned, discuss
operational challenges and best practices, and showcase innovations that will
drive the offshore wind sector on the west coast.
