BUT IS IT WORTH IT??
I received the controller on 18 Oct which was well in advance of the 31 Oct
release date, but not without shipping issues, which was in NO WAY THE FAULT
OF NACON GAMING. I'm writing this review after using the controller for
approx. 52 hours over a 3.5-day period.
The controller was packaged quite well and there wasn't any way it would get
damaged during the shipping process. It comes in a case that is quite
spacious and has plenty of room in it for the addition of any other
"knick-knacks" you might want to put in it. (Disclaimer: when doing a few of
my "comparisons" I'm using the "Playstation Dual Sense Edge Wireless
controller, which I've also purchased and have been using for approx. five
or six months.) For instance, I've placed some of my stick covers in it.
Now, The first "sticking point" was the language. I still don't understand
this because I've purchased and have been given NUMEROUS items for reviews
and there is one thing that ALWAYS HOLDS TRUE: No matter where the item is
manufactured there are ALWAYS instructions, quick-start guides, etc. in many
different languages and one thing holds true, there is ALWAYS an excerpt in
English. In fact, EVERY International Tech company that is based out of the
U.S. that ships devices worldwide ALWAYS has their instruction manuals
printed in different languages, but they ALWAYS have it printed in the
language of the target country. I.E. If the device is going to Germany, they
make sure there is an instruction booklet in German included in the package.
That brings us back to the current "issue" and that is after un-boxing my
brand new shiny Revolution 5 Pro controller and looking for the
"quick-start" guide and was relieved that I could now set up this awesome
new piece of tech...ONLY TO FIND OUT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRITTEN IN
ENGLISH!! What I had to do was download the files from the Nacon gaming
website and then have that entire instruction booklet translated via Google
Translate. Of course, there were a few things lost in translation, but AGAIN
I don't understand why there wasn't ANYTHING written in English. Included in
the case with the controller are a braided USB-C cable, interchangeable
stick caps & D-pad cap, and a small "utility case" with weights, for the
controller handles, and a Wireless adapter that I believe you plug into the
headphone jack to use to connect wirelessly to something? Unfortunately, I
can't figure it out because I can't find anything in English about it. Also,
these weights, I don't get these..or I'm not used to these in a controller.
I've been trying these weights out and actually, I have to say it's a not
bad feeling to be able to change the weight of the controller by placing the
weights in the "controller handle" compartments. Also within the box is a
USB Dongle that you plug into your PS5 console in order to utilize the
"wireless" connectivity. I'm quite impressed with everything they've
included with the controller., except for anything in English.
I downloaded the Windows app in order to be able to properly utilize my
shiny, new controller. All I can say is it's basically a trial by error when
using the Windows PC app, well it was for me anyhow. Once you figure it out,
it's a tool, that in the lack of an Android mobile app, I find that you
can't properly utilize this controller without the Windows app!!
The Windows app is basically the same exact interface that I use with the
Dual Sense Edge, except that the Dual Sense Edge I utilize it within the
Playstation UI right on my console. It was a bit cumbersome getting used to
figuring out how to change my buttons on the console then in real-time
testing them out in a game, and having to have my Laptop in my other hand to
change in issues as they arise. ONE ISSUE I'VE FOUND OUT IS THIS: Within the
Windows app, you have an area called "testing" or something to that effect
where you can click on it and test out the changes you make to the
controller itself. But I've found out that even though the testing section
shows the changes you've made are correct when utilizing those changes in
the game itself they are the opposite. For example, I've changed my R/L1 & 2
triggers so that my R & L 1 triggers are moved to where the R/L 2 triggers
are on a normal controller. I then moved my R/L 2 triggers to the back of
the controller. When testing this out within the window's app it will show
that my changes made are appropriate and have moved exactly where I want
them to be. The problem is that when I attempt to use these changes in
real-time in a game they end up being exactly opposite of where I wanted
them to be and also where they showed me they were within the app in the
testing section.
Now for the use of the controller during gameplay. I actually like the
"feel" of it in my hands. It definitely is ergonomically comfortable and
properly utilized. Out of the box, the controller had a 60% charge and I
charged it the rest of the way to 100%. Basically been using the controller
non-stop for about 50-52 hours and have had to recharge it four times. Each
charge has lasted about eight or nine hours. There are buttons to change
your trigger movement & profiles. Also, there is a switch to move it from
PS5, PS4, & PC. There is also a switch to move it between A & C. I can't
figure out what the differences are between the A&C switches. I do know that
you have to have it on A in order to utilize it when using the Windows app.
You also have a button with a Bluetooth button along with "+" and "-"
buttons and haven't figured out their use as of yet. You also have a
Headphone jack which you also have a USB plug-in to use to plug into the
headphone jack, and again haven't been able to figure out its use yet. The
lack of vibration for PS5 games is annoying, yes. Alone that wouldn't be a
big issue for me, but it's just another thing or lacking feature that you
can add to the list of "missing items" for a controller that is supposed to
be "Playstation ready"!
THERE ARE TWO PROBLEMS OR ISSUES I HAVE WHEN USING THIS CONTROLLER WITH THE
PS5: 1. You can't turn on the console with this controller, or at least I
haven't been able to figure out how to do it and I've tried everything. THAT
RIGHT THERE IS A NEAR DEAL-BREAKER FOR ME, WHY? AT THIS PRICE POINT YOU
SHOULDN'T HAVE TO USE ANOTHER CONTROLLER TO TURN ON YOUR CONSOLE AND THEN
SWITCH OVER TO THIS SHINY NEW CONTROLLER!!! 2. The Right stick comes off
constantly. No matter what, little pressure, moderate pressure or movement
and it pops off. I was right in the middle of a boss fight today and POP.
You would think if you have Nathan's name attached to this controller you
wouldn't have "insignificant" issues like this, especially using COMBAT
games, I'm not sure you'd be able to utilize a controller where the right
stick pops off constantly!!! The lights on the controller are a nice touch,
but I'm not a tactile or sensory stim kind of person, so if the lights
weren't there, it wouldn't make a difference one way or the other for me
So Far to me this is a "work in progress". I'll wait for a final judgment
after more tools are able to be utilized for the proper use of this
controller. I'm referring to an Android app and some updates, due to the
fact that not being able to utilize this controller to initiate or turn your
console on makes no sense no matter how many "bells and whistles" you have
within the controller itself. At it's core the controller is supposed to
work in order to play games, correct? No matter how many interchangeable
sticks or different color lights you have, if it doesn't work at its basic
core then it is just "eye candy", in my opinion. So I'm hoping that in the
very near future, something is worked out in order to get this controller to
be able to turn on the console.
I'll continue to use the controller because it does feel so comfortable but
there are numerous other controllers that are just as comfortable at an
extremely lower price point. Hey, I paid for it, so I'm not going to sit and
whine about it as I'm just giving an honest review. Will I continue to use
the controller? Yes. I'm sure that when more information comes out in
English the use of the controller will get better. With more updates the
same. But, if this controller is going to "rest on its laurels" well then
that's when it'll be time to go back to controllers that do work as they are
designed to.

We have shared your thoughts on our controller to our team. We are very
sorry for the lack of English documentation to allow you to enjoy your
controller. The detailed and in-depth Instruction Book to all of our
controller's functionalities and customization options will be shared as
soon as it is available, in your language.
The absence of features such as haptic feedback and adaptative triggers,
the absence of vibrations on PS5 mode, the absence of an internal
microphone are not specific design choices from our side or omissions
but real technical restrictions in the development and release of an
officially licensed controller.
To answer to your other questions : The A and C switches allows you to
choose Advanced “A” or Classic “C” mode to use the 4 different available
profiles per platform customizable using the app. The profile button
will then allow you to select the correct profile ( more to come in the
Instruction Book that will be uploaded to our website).
For the Bluetooth button you can pair a headset to your controller using
Bluetooth audio, you can find the instructions to pair your headset to
the controller in the Quick start guide available on the product page in
the Support and Downloads section.

THE BEST CONTROLLER.
The best controller I have ever bought, I have pro controllers from other
brands (almost all of them have stick drift) and personally the Nacon
Revolution 5 Pro surpasses them in almost all aspects, I love the fact that
this controller use hall effect joysticks.

I was so excited for this controller! i had been telling my stream about it
for a month. Just to finally open it on stream and things don't work
properly. and no English instructions! my followers thought I had got
scammed. one said, "i thought it was anti stick drift?" "I never had a brand
new controller just get stuck like that." same, here...except for now. the
back buttons are horrible too. they don't stick out what so ever. so its not
a natural or comfortable feeling. I have 7 pro controllers, worse one yet.

Der Controller macht einen robusten und wertigen Eindruck. Das Zubehör ist
für mich ausreichend.
Negativ ist zu erwähnen das der linke Stick in der rechten und unteren
Stellung klemmen bleibt. Die Reklamation ist geschrieben aber bisher keine
weitere Kommunikation von seiten Nacon.

WELL WORTH THE COIN
My go-to controller
Recommended this several friends already
Not perfect but really really good
If you like rumble the lack of rumble is maybe the biggest negative
Rumble is not a deal breaker for me
My biggest complaint is how if you are requiring a PC and software to
customize controls that you do not have an app on PS store to natively
customize from the PS5 and I would really like an IOS and android app so I
don’t have to connect to a PC
Having said that, back button controls feel awesome, accessories and stick
options are great, and the controls are very responsive.
Will continue to recommend but please give a PS5 app for customization.

MISLEADING PRODUCT ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE
Sarcasm warning.
So I bought this product after recently returning a dual sense edge. If you
aren't aware all Sony controllers have an issue (as well as guaranteed stick
drift), with either the software or hardware where the vibration changes
after various amounts of use (machine gun fire is a common cause). The new
vibration is awful, very loud, unintended and even present on the dual sense
edge. It's been present on all 4 ps5 crappy controllers I've bought (I love
stick drift). It is only fixable by a controller restart. So unsatisfied I
returned it and took a chance of this controller.
The nacon revolution pro 5 fixes this issue by completely disabling
vibration for all ps5 games. Yeah. "Optimised for ps5"
I'm guessing there is some bs on Sony's end related to the vibration on
controllers why else would it be disabled and dodgy on official pads. You
can enable vibration for PS4 games by changing the mode switch on top of the
controller. But upon booting a ps5 game you get the usual "this controller
isn't supported for ps5 games give us more money" message
You can read this lack of this feature for the nacon rev pro 5 in the user
manual for yourself.
Vibration
The controller is equipped with a vibration engine which is only compatible
with PC* and PS4™ games. In PS5® mode on PS5® games played on the PS5®
console, the controller will not vibrate.
Weird that it's not mentioned on the front-page specs.
The haptic feedback on triggers also seems to be absent as you can see from
the picture they aren't selectable and i definitely had the controller in
ps5 mode
Other things worth mentioning are the volume buttons on the controller seem
to be a separate volume? to the ps5 UI game volume adjustment, making the
minimum headphone volume louder than I would like.
The controller doesn't seem to be able to turn the ps5 on at a button press
either (in wired).
The controller is lightweight but can be increased in weight using the ones
provided. It would take some getting used to not accidentally pressing the
buttons running down the inside of the handles.
It comes with a usb dongle which I think it needs for wireless on ps5.
The dpad is easily interchangable with the one provided.
Maybe worth mentioning Im in the UK and I had to pay an extra £45 to fedex.
The sticks feel nice to use and are quiet, the dual sense edge has this
weird sound every time you start to move the sticks kinda like a electrical
current connecting, hard to explain.
Triggers are at an angle rather than the standard flat which is nice to rest
you fingers on. They also have a texture to them.
The trigger locks work as expected.
No problems with any of the buttons they all feel nice.
Haven't played around with profiles yet as I think you need the app that's
not out.
There is a constant light around the right stick that might get annoying in
dark rooms.
To the side of the touchpad are lights that light up when you
increase/decrease the volume and show when your at max/min. Also when your
muted which is nice. There's also charging indicator lights that appear
below the touchpad.
All in all kinda disappointing for the price. So if you want a better
controller you have to choose between guaranteed stick drift and dodgy
vibration on Sony's trash or no vibration possibly ever, maybe they can
patch it later but for that price it should be in as standard.
