APPRAISAL REVIEW BOARD (ARB) HEARINGS ARE UNDERWAY
An ARB is a group of citizens authorized to resolve disputes between property
owners and appraisal districts. ARB members are locally appointed to serve
two-year terms where they hear taxpayer protests. After listening to the
property owner and appraisal district representative, the ARB makes a
determination on the issues heard during the protest. ARB decisions are binding
only for the tax year in question. ARB hearings typically occur in May through
July.

Welcome to Hood CAD’s new Official Website
Hood Central Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and
business personal property within Hood County. The district appraises property
according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of
Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).
Within this site you will find general information about the district and the ad
valorem property tax system in Texas, as well as the ability to search
information regarding specific properties. We had two main goals when
developing the site content. The first goal is to provide the public with
easily accessed information and data, along with reports and various forms for
Hood County property owners and others. The second goal was to group data and
information in logical, organized and clear locations providing easy access for
taxpayers and the public.
The district strives to adhere to the Texas Property Tax Code to provide
accurate appraisals for the property owners in Hood County. The district is
responsible for determining the fair market value of properties within each of
the following taxing entities: Hood County, Granbury ISD, Lipan ISD, Tolar ISD,
City of Granbury, City of Lipan, City of Tolar, portions of Bluff Dale ISD, Glen
Rose ISD, Godley ISD and the Cresson Crossroads MUD2.
Additional responsibilities include serving as the consolidated property tax
assessment and collection office for Hood County and the taxing entities wholly
within the district’s jurisdiction.
