SELMA

SELMA is a steady-state multiphase flow simulator. Inserted in the oil and gas
industry, the oil [as multiphase] flow is simulated in the production lines,
from the reservoir to the platform. Simulations are composed of pressure drop,
temperature drop, and fluids models.

PMOT – PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT OPTIMIZATION TOOLKIT

Engineering solutions to achieve operational excellence, support the
decision-making process and save time. Our tools combine integration,
optimization, and simulation. 




DATABASE BUILDING

Gather, organize, and filter different data sources. As a result, databases and
the decision-making process are connected, saving users’ time and improving the
management and optimization process.





GAS LIFT OPTIMIZATION

Increase oil production changing operational variables without any additional
cost. The Mixed Integer Linear Problem (MILP) formulation includes all producing
wells and unit capacity constraints.

MSF TUNING

Automatically tunes multiphase flow models obtaining a model that represents the
actual well behavior matching well test parameters.





VIRTUAL FLOW METERING

A fast and low-cost technology to obtain multiphase flow rates based on first
principles models using only available data resources. The technology also
choose the model, and the model does not need calibration.

ABOUT

SELMA was created to develop Danielle and Gabriela’s MSc research project.
Teamwork, passion for solve problems, and curiosity, lead it to a bigger
project. SELMA is an acronym from Portuguese: Simulador de ELevação e escoamento
Multifásico. Although the letters don’t match perfectly, SELMA is a female name,
bringing deeper meaning to the software, developed for two women. This name was
given by Virgilio, their advisor, mentor, and supporter since the undergraduate.
