Another Gmail Problem

Basically, a website could download your entire Gmail contact list by adding a
bit of code to their server and exploiting Google’s JSON API. The problem has
apparently been fixed, very soon after the vulnerability was found.

Get mail from other accounts

Now Gmail can check for the mail you receive at your other email accounts.

You can retrieve your mail (new and old) from up to five other email accounts
and have them all in Gmail. Then you can even create a customized ‘From:’
address, which lets you send messages from Gmail, but have them look like they
were sent from another one of your email accounts.

Please note that you can only retrieve mail from accounts that have POP3 access
enabled.

Disable Gmail Talk popups Greasemonkey script

Google Talk’s been integrated into many Gmail accounts by now, and while it’s
pretty neat, the chat popup that appears any time you rollover someone’s name
could drive anyone batty.

Happily Google expert Garett Rogers provides a Greasemonkey user script that
disables the popup without having to shut off the chat feature entirely. Useful!
Free download, Firefox and Greasmonkey only.
