EUNJUNG CHO

Eunjung Cho is an anchor and reporter based in VOA’s Washington, D.C.,
headquarters. Cho was the first anchor for VOA Korean Service’s weekly TV
discussion program “Washington Talk,” where she brought together prominent U.S.
experts to discuss security and diplomacy in Asia. Cho is a skilled moderator
for panel discussions that tackles complex issues.

Since joining VOA Korean service in 2007, Cho quickly became one of the
highest-profile reporters with her global scoop on the release of a Canadian
detained in North Korea. In 2014, she filed investigative reports from Qatar on
dire conditions of North Korean workers. Her reporting was cited in a special
U.N. human rights report the next year. She also closely covered U.S. policy on
North Korea from the State Department and Capitol Hill.

Her two decades of international broadcast journalism started at Arirang TV, a
global satellite network in Seoul, South Korea. During her six years at Arirang,
she served as an anchor and correspondent to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the
Unification Ministry and the Finance and Economy Ministry. Cho earned a
bachelor’s degree in French language and literature from Ewha Woman’s University
in Seoul.
