name/rename folders and files. If they want to offer a Lr migration tool next

WORD FOR MAC LOST LEVEL NUMBERING

the style, color, and alignment of the bullets, letters, or numbers. A
multilevel list (or outline list), like single-level ones, can be bulleted or
numbered — but with the added bonus that you can mix numbers, letters,. Free

There are a lot of people at work who don't know how to use auto-numbered
headings and tables of contents at work, so I offered to do a 30 minute training
session. I'm a Mac user and work has just updated their PCs to Word 2016 and
everything seems to have changed on there.

In the good old days you would right click on the heading style, choose Modify
and go down to numbering, click the Outline Numbering tab and get to work. But
with Word 2016 Windows, the Outline numbering tab has gone from modify heading
style.

Instead there is the separate outline numbering button on the ribbon. You can't
do it from within the heading modification. I'm experimenting, but can anyone
tell me the simplest workflow for creating a heading with bespoke fonts etc and
outline numbering? Thanks for your help. I am assuming you are using the
built-in heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) for numbering, so these
instructions operate under that assumption. If the heading styles are already in
use, create a set of styles named Level 1, Level 2, etc. For each outline level.

On the Home tab, bring up the Styles launcher. At the bottom of the launcher,
click Options.

Under Select styles to show, select All Styles. Under Select how list is sorted,
select Alphabetical. Uncheck the 5 boxes below it, select only in this document,
click OK. Scroll through the list of styles until the Heading 1, 2, 3, etc.
Styles are visible. Insert a paragraph in the document. It can be blank or have
some placeholder text, whichever you prefer.

Make sure it is Normal styled (use the Clear All Formatting button on the Home
tab in the Font group, above the Font Color dropdown.) Ignoring numbering for
the moment, apply whatever direct formatting you want to the paragraph (font
size, color, alignment, space before/after, keep with next, etc.) Once the
direct formatting is in place, right click Heading 1 in the style launcher, and
select Update Heading 1 to Match Selection. Repeat this process for each
additional style (Heading 2, etc.) you wish to add.

Remember to ignore numbering and base each level from a Normal styled paragraph.
You do NOT want styles intended for numbering to be based on anything but Normal
unless you want a document that has a better than average chance of becoming a
numbering nightmare.

Now for the numbering. Put the cursor on the Heading 1 paragraph. In the
Paragraph group, above the justified button, click the Multilevel List dropdown
and select Define New Multilevel List. Click the More button the lower left
corner. Under Level to Modify, 1 should be automatically selected. First off,
because it is IMO the most important part, select Heading 1 under Link Level to
Style. Select whatever other numbering options you want for Heading 1, but don't
click on OK just yet.

(Note that Text Indent At is basically a hanging indent, so set that to 0 if you
don't want any hanging indent.) Once level 1 is finished, click on 2 under Level
to Modify and repeat the same process of modifying each level. Don't forget to
link levels to styles! Level 1 should be linked to Heading 1, level 2 to Heading
2, etc. Once you're at 2, you probably want to have it set up to restart after
1, so don't forget to select that for level 2 and each additional level after
that. Repeat for each other level you want select, then click OK.

Save the document as a template. Backup the template somewhere where it can't be
accidentally edited as well. As someone who does this kind of thing for a
living, there are some things I would highly recommend you pass along to your
trainees. First, if the numbering needs modified for whatever reason, do so by
going to the FIRST instance of a Level 1 heading, right click on the number and
select Adjust List Indents. Anywhere else and it could lead to the numbering
getting jacked up. Second, teach them to use the Heading styles you created to
apply numbering to paragraphs and NOT the multilevel list dropdown.

Third, if they don't know what styles are, teach them. Finally, it's not
necessary to reinsert a TOC if it needs updated, just put the cursor anywhere on

If you've been using — Pages, Keynote, or Numbers — on your Mac for a long time,
chances are you have older files stored locally rather than in Apple's online
service,. While those files are still perfectly good, they don't benefit from
iCloud's Documents in the Cloud sync service, which lets you open copies on any
other Mac, iPhone, iPad you may have logged into your account, nor can they be
shared or accessed via iCloud.com. If you want all of that sync and access
goodness, you'll need to move your Keynote, Pages, or Numbers files from your
Mac to iCloud. Luckily, it's easy to do!

I have both iWork and Office 2011 for Mac. I have saved/kept several Word (.doc)
documents in relevant Air documents folders. I have also created and saved
several.pages documents, and moved some to iCloud. Revelation robben ford pdf
delete. A click on a Pages icon on the Dock indicates which.pages documents have
been put on or saved to iCloud (as well as those on my Mac). After I have fully
opened a.pages document, a menu below 'File' allows me to 'move' that document
to iCloud. However, a 'Move To.'

Option is not available when I highlight an opened.doc Word document. I know
that this Office program is a Microsoft program.

I can also convert the.doc document to a.pages document, and then move that
document to iCloud. Is there some other, perhaps simpler, way to move a.doc
document to iCloud? There is no automatic.doc to.pages conversion occurring by
dragging and dropping a.doc file into iCloud as I have mentioned. I tested this
by dragging the file (moving) the.doc file onto my desktop from iCloud, and then
opening it with LibreOffice.
