ABOUT THE HACKATHON

We are dedicated to providing an outlet for all students to develop their ideas,
as well as fostering an environment that emboldens these students towards
pursuing a career in STEAM. Attend small in-person events, get access to
resources, and opportunities to connect with peers, industry professionals and
special speakers!

What is TOHacks?

TOHacks (pronounced Tee-Oh-Hacks) is a student-run organization that arranges
events with the purpose of educating students about revolutionary,
ground-breaking technologies such as Financial Tech, Artificial Intelligence,
Machine Learning, and Blockchain. Our aim is to foster an environment that
stimulates growth with an understanding of S.T.E.A.M and challenges students to
find creative solutions to problems present in our current society. As you may
have guessed, our biggest event is our hackathon but we also hold events
throughout the year!
What are some events hosted by TOHacks?

Along with our annual hackathon, we host webinars, workshops, conferences, case
competitions and more! You can find more information on our Past Events page!
How does a digital-first hybrid hackathon work?

The communication, mentorship, and judging will all occur on a digital platform.
There will be a designated workspace created for the hackathon where
participants will have the opportunity to connect with their team members and
also communicate with mentors, sponsors and executive members. Certain social
activities will be hosted in a physical format based on public health protocols
for COVID-19 to encourage interaction with fellow participants and the TOHacks
executive team. We will provide all the necessary information regarding physical
events and what platforms to use closer to the hackathon date.
Who can participate?

We encourage students of all experience levels to apply to our hackathon to
encourage a good mix of participants!
When is TOHacks 2022?

TOHacks 2022 will be held in a digital-first hybrid format on May 28th & 29th.
Applications are now closed.
Where will TOHacks be held?

TOHacks 2022 will be held in a digital-first hybrid format. We will have most of
the event take place virtually through digital platforms and host certain social
activities in person based on public health guidelines. We will be sure to
communicate all necessary information to attending participants closer to the
event date. Stay tuned!
When can I apply?

The deadline for applications are May 27, 2022.
What if I’ve never been to a hackathon before?

We encourage individuals with no prior experience to attend! Our goal at TOHacks
is to provide an inclusive and encouraging environment. If you want to feel more
prepared, doing some personal research or reaching out to our team members will
be helpful! Nonetheless, we encourage you to apply.
How much does it cost to attend TOHacks?

The event is free to participate at TOHacks 2022!
How many people are allowed in a team?

A maximum of 4 people are allowed on a team.
What if I don’t have a team?

It is totally fine if you do not have a team! Everyone will have the option to
communicate with other participants to form a team. We will also have a team
formation session during the event.
