MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME.

5 things that happen when William Woods University becomes home:

1) YOU FLOURISH IN HUNDREDS OF WAYS.

Between hundreds of major and minor combinations, opportunities for internships
and on-campus research and the amazing resources William Woods University has to
offer — programs like Freshman Advantage and the faculty connections — the
question isn’t whether or not you will flourish, the question is: which way will
you choose?

 * LEAD Award

   Our LEAD program rewards you with $5,000 a year ($2,500 for commuter
   students) to get involved around campus – attending events, organizing
   student activities, becoming a LEADer. The LEAD award is one of a kind. It’s
   designed to give students the chance to try new things, to reach outside of
   their comfort zones, to get involved in special opportunities.

 * Mentor-Mentee Program

   Working in a team context with a faculty member, you will assume full
   responsibility for a research or creative project with a faculty member
   serving as a mentor. William Woods University is one of a relatively small
   number of universities that provide undergraduate students with opportunities
   to become involved in research and truly creative work.

 * Freshman Advantage

   The Freshman Advantage program helps to reduce any anxieties you may have
   about coming to college, including making friends, adjusting to campus life,
   and getting familiar to the new surroundings. This annual three-week program
   held on campus allows you to earn seven Common Studies credit hour, meet
   friends from your incoming class, bond with upper-class mentors, and get to
   know faculty and staff.

 * Woods 101

   Coming to William Woods University next fall? At The Woods 101 — a weekend in
   the spring of high school senior year — you will get a 360-degree look into
   what it’s like to be a student at William Woods, get your student ID,
   pre-register for fall classes and attend awesome events to give you just a
   taste of what college life will be like.

 * Service Learning

   Did you know any community service you do whether through a student
   organization, your fraternity or sorority, honors course can with a couple of
   simple steps be transformed into co-curricular service-learning?
   Opportunities like reading in a local elementary school can make a difference
   while simultaneously giving you course credit.

 * Woods Around the World

   Our Woods Around the World program gives you the chance to study abroad and
   explore some amazing corners of the world you didn’t even know existed. Woods
   Around the World (WATW) is a unique approach to education that takes the
   student beyond the classroom and the textbook and into the real world of
   another culture.

 * Honors Program

   The Honors Program at William Woods University is a selective program that
   fosters the growth of students who are dedicated, imaginative, and excited
   about learning. The program is a supportive community composed of students
   from all majors on campus. There are approximately 20 students accepted into
   the program each year.

 * Career Services

   We are proud of our career service opportunities — a great place to go and
   sit down with our career experts who can answer all of your questions, big
   and small. How does my resume look? What do I wear to this interview? Will
   you help me prepare for the toughest interview questions? Some other
   opportunities include career exploration and planning, our career resource
   library, job and internship searches, graduate school search assistance and
   study abroad information.
