Global tech giant Meta has warned that key proposed reforms of Australia’s
privacy laws risk undermining how Instagram and Facebook work, destroying
targeted advertising and blocking businesses’ push into “personalise” their
services for customers.

The California-based company has flown Melinda Claybaugh, its global director of
privacy policy, into the country to meet government officials and stakeholders
this week.
