This eclectic Psychotherapy & Wellness practice is devoted to helping people
transform their lives by providing holistic, integrative and supportive
psychotherapy that leads to a more skilled and empowered version of you.
Managing symptoms of overwhelm, anxiety and depression, no matter the source,
can leave you feeling depleted. You may also experience difficulty adjusting to
changes in your life, or need support working through relationship struggles,
such as, communication problems, codependency, boundaries, trust issues,
attachment concerns, problem patterns, and more. If there are unconscious
dynamics that run your life, you will be guided to identify and heal the parts
of you that self-sabotage or leave you feeling “stuck” in your life. Your
struggles are real, and can steal your life force, leaving you less available
for the parts of your life that should nourish you.

Effective therapy can provide you with the tools you need to feel balanced,
resourced and empowered, and this can change your life and your
relationships. Working together involves developing skills to better understand
your patterns and actively learn new strategies to overcome your struggles.
Insight and feedback are shared with the goal of helping you know yourself as
deeply as possible. As you begin to feel better, you will reconnect to yourself
and your relationships. My training in complementary, alternative solutions for
mental health allows me to safely help patients navigate natural, effective
treatments to optimize mental health, brain health and overall wellbeing,
including nutrition, supplements and herbal medicine protocols. I currently
offer psychotherapy to individuals and couples in New York and Montana, and
coaching sessions worldwide. I provide treatment for anxiety, low mood, low
motivation, low self esteem, trauma resolution, relationship issues and
hormone/health/chronic pain challenges.

For over fifteen years, my holistically-oriented Psychotherapy & Wellness
Practice In New York City has blended what I’ve found to be the most effective
practices in psychology, neurobiology, attachment theory, alternative and herbal
medicine, nutrition, yoga, meditation, coaching and mind-body medicine
practices. I believe change and transformation is possible when given the right

Solution-focused sessions are comprehensive and targeted, providing you with a

Therapeutic consultations are different from ongoing psychotherapy, and at any

Therapeutic Consultations are an option for individuals with very specific
concerns, or challenging life-events that would benefit from this highly-focused
approach. Sessions are solution-focused and brief, (typically 1-4 sessions) as I
am highly motivated to help you achieve your goals as quickly as possible.
Depending on availability, sessions can be scheduled for the next day.
Consultation appointments focus on helping you move quickly towards resolution
of a particular problem, or symptom relief from anxiety, panic attacks,
depression, a troubling circumstance and relationship concerns. I am able to
share amazing referrals to other mental health experts, acupuncturists,
naturopaths, body workers, alternative medical practitioners, nutritionists,

I see too many women suffering at this transition, and not enough research,
education and validation for the struggle. Even worse, I see women who are
regularly gaslit by their medical professionals as they seek to understand and
get help for their hormone-related struggles. And yet, we have receptors for sex
hormones throughout the body and brain, and neurotransmitters are directly
impacted by the changes in hormones. We now know that estrogen has protective
effects against psychotic symptoms of schizophrenia because of its modulating
effect on neurotransmitters, especially dopamine. Some women have their first
presentation of schizophrenia at menopause. That’s just one example of how
hypoestrogenism can impact women’s mental health.


EVEN THOUGH MENOPAUSE IS NOT CONSIDERED A DISORDER, IT SURE CAN FEEL LIKE IT FOR
MANY WOMEN.

And these, sometimes debilitating complaints, can last for a decade and longer.
As a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in Manhattan, I see many
women who begin to have complaints, feel “off” or really struggle with anxiety
and depression during times of hormonal transition. Many women seek treatment
and have their first presentation of anxiety, depression, insomnia and
difficulty coping around the time of perimenopause and menopause, whether
natural, premature or medically-induced after hysterectomy or chemotherapy.

Current science estimates that about 95 percent of our brain activity is
unconscious, meaning that the majority of our behaviors, decisions, actions,
conflicts and emotions are beyond conscious awareness. In fact, the unconscious
is responsible for much of our misery, unhappiness, anxiety and depression. It
is possible to have greater access to the unconscious in the service of leading
a more conscious life. I offer a psychoanalytically-informed psychotherapy
approach to help clients understand themselves and their relationships, as well
as the unconscious internal conflicts that impede them from achieving their
goals and having a more satisfying life. Through this lens, we are able to
identify and uncover the unconscious conflicts that drive us to repeat and
engage in behaviors and dynamics that are an unconscious attempt to master the
past, but often lead to self-destructive and self-defeating behaviors. Paying
close attention to and working through unconscious material, clients gain
insight into current difficulties and patterns, which frees them to make
important changes in their lives. This leads to lasting changes in rigid defense
mechanisms, symptom reduction and increased self-esteem and mastery. These
life-enhancing changes gained in psychodynamic psychotherapy keeps the conscious
you in the driver’s seat more often.

This is not a short-term therapy solution, rather an unfolding of experiences
revealed in the context of the relationship between psychotherapist and patient.
Because psychoanalytic psychotherapy also emphasizes the ways in which past
experiences shape our present experience, the therapeutic process involves the
exploration of transference (feelings that the patient has toward another person
which they unconsciously redirect toward the therapist) to explore unresolved
issues. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is typically used in higher-functioning
patients (e.g. patients not actively suicidal, without serious substance abuse
problems, and without acute instability in their lives).

emotional bonds, which can lead to increased feelings of security and closeness
in both partners. Because partners bring their own unique dynamics into
relationships, effective couple therapy can help motivated partners navigate
difficult transitions and challenges, and also heal trauma wounds when
present. In many cases, couples have suffered a traumatic rupture in their
