THE EVENT FOR PUBLIC SECTOR WOMEN RETURNS AS EQUITY IS EMBRACED AND WE MOVE TOWARDS INNOVATIVE APPROACHES FOR A GENDER-EQUAL FUTURE! Representation of women within the Australian Public Service is on the rise. For the first time in history, the APS has achieved gender balance at most senior leadership levels, and the gender pay gap, whilst hovering around 22.8%, continues to decline. And while hitting quotas and achieving targets is a vital first step, they are ultimately fruitless without senior executive support – without the values of equity, equality & empowerment being fully embraced. It is 1 out of 2 women, even to this day, who will still experience some form of sexual harassment. It is women who have 47% less superannuation approaching retirement age. It is women who are becoming homeless at exponential rates never seen before in history. One woman, per week, who die at the hands of a partner or former partner. It’s time to embrace Equity, Equality, and Empowerment. Now. WHAT CAN BE DONE? Now is the time, your time, to stand up and be counted in the movement for change sweeping workplaces across Australia. Time to take your place at the leadership table. Time to empower equality in your workplace. It’s your time to be heard, listened to, and respected. Back in its fifth year, the Women in Public Sector Leadership Summit cannot deliver widespread change by itself, but it does offer the perspectives, advice, and knowledge from women that have made it to the top. Join me at the event that is part inspiration, part education. The focus is to empower you to believe in yourself, put your hand up for opportunities and take your seat at the leadership table. You will learn what it took for our most senior women to flourish, how they stumbled, and most importantly, what they learned along the way so you can put that in your leadership kitbag and thrive. The summit features inspiring keynotes, career-focused case studies, cutting panel discussions, and interactive workshops from impressive women (and men) from Australia’s Public Sector and beyond. Shake off the depressing statistics – we must be the change. We must push forward and demand change. We need each other to learn from one another to enact meaningful change. JOIN US TODAY! Sitting there silently with lots to contribute while waiting for your co-worker to take a breath, so you can get a word in. Or you’ve suggested an idea that someone else takes the credit for - or worse - an idea that’s ignored, only to have someone else share it as though their new idea. It’s frustrating and disheartening when your voice isn’t heard; it’s as though who you are and all you could contribute is hidden. Not being heard can make you feel like you’re not leadership material. When inside, you know that you are. The good news is you’re not alone; many women identify these same challenges and in this dynamic, interactive workshop you’ll get practical tools to immediately apply, so that you can create the workplace experience you deserve. Unfortunately, women often face gender bias and personal confidence barriers when trying to communicate their ideas, getting their voices heard and generally making sure they get stakeholder buy-in. No matter your role, it’s important that you’re able to speak up with confidence, communicate effectively and ensure that your voice is heard. This half day masterclass will give you the opportunity to build your presence and gravitas in any situation, communicate with confidence and clarity, and adopt the practical mindset changes necessary to move your career to the next level. Key Learning Outcomes Include: • Practical how-to’s, so that you can address the self-doubt that undermines confidence and effective communication • Being visible – how to speak up with confidence, and share your value with stakeholders who matter • Assess and understand your stress triggers in the workplace & how to keep them in check • Challenging with confidence – how to have the difficult conversations • Set and enforce boundaries – learn how to say No in a way that lands well • Create respect and trust so that you’re noticed, listened to and heard • Clarity – action steps to set you up after the workshop By the end of the day, you will have a personalised plan to step into your power with confidence and ensure that you’re recognised as a contender for new roles and project opportunities, promotions, secondments and board appointments. This is a collaborative and highly interactive workshop that creates a safe, judgement free environment, where you can explore personal confidence and communication challenges, work with other women and create a strategy and action steps that work for you.
